About this ebook
The Soccerheads are spinning with excitement as the team climbs the table, thanks to Fabrizio and the Academy. Sammy still sees himself as the weakest link and things become much more complicated when he has a position change and then gets the armband. Can the weakest link help guide the Soccerheads to the grand final?
Frank Bogna
Frank Bogna lives in Queensland, Australia with his wife, kids and many pets. He started writing the Soccerheads series of e-books three years ago. The stories are based on real kids and events, although they have been spiced up a bit with some crazy situations and characters. He has been coaching soccer for many years, and still plays (but not very well). He follows soccer with the Australian A-League, but likes to see the odd AC Milan or Chelsea game. His spare time is taken up coaching, writing, reading other author's books and trying to keep fit with his kids.

1.Buck the ET
‘What the heck?’ spluttered Hammo.
Buck had his back to goal, the ball at his feet.
‘Do something with it Buck. Quick, you’ll lose it,’ I called out in desperation.
These were the Cunning Cannons, not some half-baked team of losers.
Buck; lose the ball? Ha, no chance.
He pushed down hard on the outside of the ball, bulging its sides as he flicked it over his knee.
Turning to face the goal with the ball floating in mid-air, he connected with a volley that shot the ball to kingdom come.
Voooooommmmm!
The ball slammed into the back of the net.
‘What the heck? Now that’s a goal. I’m impressed,’ beamed Hammo.
It takes a lot to impress Hammo.
‘Buck the ET. Buck the extra-terrestrial,’ boomed Hammo’s voice across the pitch.
The whole team stood in amazement.
Ruff’s ears pricked up. A rare event!
Even the Cannons stopped in their tracks.
Motionless.
Amazed.
Buck cracked a surprised smile at his new name.
Play restarted as the Cannons limply tapped the ball at kick-off.
Buck won the ball back quickly and then came another goal, and another.
The full time score was three-nil.
Getting Buck back on the team after his accident was like getting Messi and Ronaldo all in one. Maybe we should have called him Ronessi or Messaldo!
Buck was sensational, but he couldn’t have done it without us, the rest of the team. Our training session that week, the session from hell, helped us to press, intercept and give Buck the balls he needed.
We were on the way back up the ladder. Finals, here we come.

Rewind.
Topic: The session from hell.
Location: Urbanville Soccer Club.
Team: The Soccerheads of course.
Time: 4.00pm.
Day: A Wednesday I think, but with too many days until the weekend, I can’t be sure. Wait. Monday training. Wednesday training. Yeah, Wednesday.
Date: Unknown. We only need to know that when we’re in school.
Objective: Train until you drop. Get better and give these other teams a hiding. Move up the ladder and get into the finals.
Buck turned up with his own ball, performing Keepy Uppy like no kid we had ever seen. Not once did he miss.
Ping. Boing. Ping. Boing. Tap. Tap.
‘Just awesome,’ beamed Izzy as she walked towards me. I kept shuffling sideways, just a bit. She wasn’t going to get her arm around me again!
‘A magician,’ added Rado.
‘Ah, Buck … so you are Buck. That is very good Keepy Uppy,’ stuttered Fabrizio, a little surprised at his skills.
‘Come, we go now,’ he motioned as we strolled over to where he
