About this ebook
“The Fruit & Veg Kids” have been created to capture the imagination of Children through entertainment, to then progressively engage them into the pattern of a healthy lifestyle with regular healthy eating and physical activities through the inspiration of these entertaining and colourful characters in a very simplistic approach.
“The Fruit & Veg Kids” books are written and presented in such a way that not only will they assist Children in their early stages of learning to read, but Parents and Teachers also enjoy reading the stories by finding them very engaging, enlightening and amusing. People with learning difficulties also benefit and enjoy the books due to the simplicity in presentation.
In addition to this first book from “The Fruit & Veg Kids”, which features very amusing rhymes and brief nutritional information to assist Parents and Teachers to educate their Children, there are also further books written that not only contain subtle messages regarding the need to regularly eat healthy food and stay active every day, but they also promote good behaviour and personal safety. These books will follow and be available soon.
Childhood Obesity is on a continual and alarming increase creating many serious health problems for Children. "The Fruit & Veg Kids" will prove to be a vital and positive influence on Children to assist Parents and Teachers to stem and even reverse this health damaging epidemic that is spiraling out of control.
WHY ARE THE FRUIT AND VEG KIDS SO IMPORTANT?
I truly believe that my project “The Fruit & Veg Kids” will prove to be a leading light in the fight against Childhood Obesity. At this moment in time, at least one in four children in the UK (rapidly increasing to one in three) are classified Obese before they even commence their primary education placing them at a huge disadvantage from the very beginning of their journey in life.
Obesity can cause Diabetes Type 2 which not only results in young Children having to be injected everyday, but it can also cause blindness and loss of limbs in extreme cases. Obesity further causes heart disease and cancers in Children. Obesity creates social exclusion that leads to Isolation and Severe Depression.
Obesity can also produce levels of Distress, Disadvantage and Psychological problems that can further affect Children’s Behaviour, Concentration, Learning Ability and Moods leading to an Anti-Social Lifestyle.
In the present day it is predicted that many parents will out-live their Children due to this condition that has been brought about due to the Children not being provided with the correct balanced diet, or the adequate amount of regular activity for the majority of these youngsters whose lives are at risk without these day to day health essentials.
The target audience to bring about instant change with early positive results will be the 2 – 11 year olds and youngsters in these age groups have responded very positively to “The Fruit & Veg Kids”.
The under 11’s will respond to guidance in healthy lifestyles through good diet and activities and this has to be achieved with ‘Educating through Entertainment’.
^The Fruit & Veg Kids” could bring about positive change to assist current and future generations into a healthy and active lifestyle that could possibly help save the lives of many Children.
No other initiative so far has produced any real change, so now it really is time to give “The Fruit & Veg Kids” the opportunity to prove that they and Children globally can make positive changes.

Billy Banana
Billy Banana
Was grown somewhere near Ghana
On an African Plantation Estate
In the beginning he's green
Turns bright yellow and beams
I'm rich in potassium you know!
So just peel away
And enjoy one each day
Feel good and burst into song
I'm not telling fibs
About the energy he gives
Look! Twelve million Apes can't be wrong!
If anyone should ask: Potassium is a very important mineral that helps to maintain a healthy heart. It's a fact: Bananas contain Vitamin C and the Vitamin B6 that can contribute to a healthy skin. Bananas can also provide lots of energy and dietary Fibre. However, you need to eat them regularly to obtain all of these benefits.
