Dare to Not Die: A Pamphlet for Those who Consider Suicide
()
About this ebook
Hope. Acknowledgement. Encouragement.
When we live with suicidal thoughts sometimes what we need most in life is hope that life will not remain so painful; acknowledgement that we have already battled through much; encouragement that if we keep going eventually things will improve.
As someone who has looked for these same things, I want to reach out to my fellow travelers on this rugged path. Don't give up! We need you. Your presence gives us all strength. If we lose you, then we will lose a piece of us and our own hope. Please don't give up - dare to not die.
This small pamphlet is me reaching out to you - have hope, I know it is hard, it can get better.
Recognize the survivor and warrior you have been to fight the darkness this long. Let us pledge to each other -- we will keep going.
Christy Oslund
Christy has lived in the U.S. and Canada, always surrounded by animals. She returned to college as a mature student and discovered she lived with disabilities including dyslexia. Her time is balanced between academics, animal rescue, and gardening. Her relationship with Gracie, the Bull Terrier, began while she was working on her doctorate and just before she discovered she had developed new life altering medical conditions. The areas Chris writes about include the history and context of disability studies and disability services; living with disability; and living with and training dogs. She is currently writing a young adult novel, a novel for adults, and a collection of essays about coming to terms with and thriving a life punctuated by chronic illness.

Our Survival
I live so that you will live
So that we all will live.
When we live, we do our part
to not take away anyone else’s hope or survival.
Their chance to find a better day.
When one of us gives up, it costs
everyone loses a piece of themselves, ourselves.
We live and die together.
Our survival depends on all of us,
It depends on you.
We who Feel Alone

I will give badges to everyone who's figured this out about suicide, and hence
