The decorations are up and the lists are being checked twice in preparation for Abby's first Christmas. Comfort and joy fill Mary with every passing day. I live with my wonderful, sometimes drives-me-crazy husband, my slightly overweight cat named Chloe and my rambunctious maltipoo named Lulu. I'm addicted to the written word. I literally get told to put down the book at least five times a week ;) I started writing in 2011 and I'm finally ready to publish, here on Smashwords! I've got many other stories forcing their way out of my imagination and onto electronic paper. My wild imagination refuses to stick to one genre so you can expect all types of books from me in the future. Thank you for taking the time to read my stories I hope they bring you great entertainment!

To Cherlyn, thank you so much for all your amazing feedback that made me see things in a different light! I feel like I found a soul sister in you; I am blessed to call you friend!

    Chapter 1

This is it. This will be our first Christmas as a family, every one of us, Abby, Bryce, Alex…and Jane. Nothing is as I thought it would be. I certainly didn’t expect us to celebrate the holidays under one roof, but Sarah, my best-friend-like-a-sister, can be scary persuasive when she sets her mind to something.

I thought I could handle seeing Alex and Jane together, after all, I’ve moved on. I’m madly in love with Bryce. Still, there’s nothing like seeing the results of a secret three-year affair between your ex-husband and best friend unfold right before your eyes. It’s like a slow twist of a knife you managed to grow numb to. I’ve wished on more than one occasion that I had been more careful, that I hadn’t been so thoughtless and had been more honest with myself. I could have saved us all from the awkward dance we seem to be stepping to around each other. Abby is the only thread tying us all together and for her I would move mountains. So, I’m moving the mountain of hurt I’ve been holding onto and meeting with Alex today to invite him and Jane to have Christmas with Bryce and me at our house. I
