Summary: This is a complilation of many short lyrical rhymes. They can be sung and easily memorized. There are a few that are humorous, some can be used to teach ABC's and/or counting, and others can be learned just for fun! My favorite was on page 15 about the five ducks. Personal Reaction: This is a great book for younger students who are still learning how to count, add and subtract, and say their ABC's. Since this book is lyrical, they can be sung and memorized.Classroom Extension Ideas:A. A great idea in the classroom is to let each child pick their favorite poem and print it off and let them decorate and color it. The teacher could then hang it on the wall where the student could see it everyday.B. Another good idea would be to use these poems during a lesson if it involves counting or the ABC's. The teacher and students would recite it everyday until each student could say it.
