Most people, who are ill-advised on the definition of the word inflammation, consider it a bad thing altogether, while in fact it must be understood that inflammation is a natural response, from the body itself, aimed to remove harmful materials from the body like irritants, bacteria & damaged cells and initiate the healing process. Explained in simpler terminology, when something hazardous tries to or affects a part of the body, there is an internal response from the body to get rid of that entity; this response is inflammation. Inflammation is just a painful swelling, typically red in color, which encompasses parts of the body as a response to some infiltration.
