Marry me, Saundra, Tony said to his reflection in the mirror. He lowered his voice, trying to sound like Humphrey Bogart, marry me he said again, raising his eye brow. He laughed hoping it would relieve some of the nervousness that had been building up since he decided to propose to his girlfriend. He had meticulously planned this evening’s surprise engagement party, every detail down to the letter. He needs everything to go perfectly. As he stood there going over the last minute details making sure he hadn’t over looked some detail the phone rang startling him.

Hello?

Hey Bro. Everything ready for tonight? Tony’s best friend Robert asked, You know there is still time to change your mind.

Funny Rob, real funny! You know how I feel about her. If I don’t take the relationship to the next level, I’m afraid I will lose her, Tony complained.

Yeah, I know. Are you nervous?

A little, but I love her, and I want to spend the rest of my life with her. Tony couldn’t help smile as he felt his heart skip a beat just from the thought of her.

If you’re sure, it is good enough for me.

Yes, I’m sure, Tony reassured him.

Ok, then. See you tonight. Robert said, as he hung up the phone.

Tony opened the Tiffany’s ring box and grinned at the beautiful princess cut diamond. ‘It has taken me a year to save up enough money for just the down payment, but it will be well worth it to see this ring on Saundra’s finger. I’m sure she will love it.’ Tony thought to himself before closing the box and placing it in his pocket.

Two
