Miss Sanders will be with you shortly. If you would just have a seat while you wait, said the blonde seated behind the reception desk.

Miss Sanders? I asked in confusion. This must be a mistake. I was scheduled to meet with an Elliot Sanders today.

The receptionist gave me her best bitchy smile as she nodded. "Miss Elliot Sanders, CEO, will be with you shortly. Have a seat."

I took a step back and tried to hide my surprise with the situation. Someone in my office had fucked up royally and now I was walking into a multi-million dollar meeting without even knowing the sex of the person on the other side of the double doors in front of me. I knew how to talk to men in power. I knew what made them tick. But women... There was a reason I stayed away from mergers with women at the head of a company. I simply didn't know how to connect with them.

I wondered for a second if Miss Sanders put her out here to distract men before her meetings, much like I used my own personal assistant for back in my office. Toss a pretty girl in front of a man who spent most of the day in an office and you might suddenly find yourself facing down an opponent who was too busy undressing the help in his mind than putting up a defense.

Good luck Mr. Carter, said the receptionist as I walked to the double doors. You're going to need it today.

Her tone rattled me. It shouldn't have, but I'd
