About this ebook

This cookbook offers fifty-two recipes created with bargain items found at most dollar stores. It includes seven sections divided by colorful and black-and-white images for easy navigation, depending on the electronic device. Make something new for dinner tonight like Eggs and Bacon Spinach Salad, Lobster Sliders, or Potato and Cheddar Cheese Pierogies. In an age where time is limited and everyone is on the go, it's crucial to not only be able to cook, but to do so expeditiously! If you’re looking for something quick and easy, stick with traditional favorites such as Southern Sweet Iced Tea, Meatballs and Spaghetti, and Pumpkin Pie. Additionally, tips and variations come with each dish, so you can experiment in the kitchen too. Dollar stores make shopping and preparing meals on a budget an easy task. However, all discount stores are not created equal, so some ingredients may not always be available. Cooking on a Dollar Store Budget has something for single people and for entire families alike.

Cooking On a Dollar Store Budget - Rekaya Gibson

    Introduction

When I became unemployed, I started frequenting dollar stores more often to find bargains. I planned meals on $10 a week from foods that I discovered mainly at the Dollar Tree and the 99¢ Only Store. I didn’t want to forego taste because I could not afford it. I wanted flavorful dishes without all the fuss. That’s what inspired me to write this cookbook.

Cooking on a Dollar Store Budget gives readers 52 recipes developed from products found at local dollar stores such as fresh produce, frozen foods, and a variety of seasonings. Though not everything exists there, families can find some great items to create quick, appetizing dishes. It not only saves time by shopping in a smaller store, but it also reduces the grocery bill as well. In addition, some stores now accept manufacturer coupons for even larger discounts.

In this cookbook, helpful tips and variations accompany each recipe. The nutritional information is not included; however, the portion sizes are ideal for small families, singles, or those who are watching their weight. The seven sections consist of: Appetizers and Beverage, Desserts, Main Dishes, Poultry, Salads and Sandwiches, Seafood, and Side Items. Find familiar favorites that have zing, for instance Spaghetti and Spicy Meat Sauce, Food Temptress Chili, or Grilled Cheese and Sweet Pepper Sandwich. Better yet, try something new like the Lobster Sliders, Eggs and Bacon Spinach Salad, or Potato and Cheddar Cheese Pierogies. Whatever the meal, it will not cost much, and it will still be pleasing to the palate. Bon
