Chapter 1

Leaving everything behind

Jenny was a nice 22y old girl, who just came to New York a couple of weeks ago in pursue of a new career. She was a star pupil at her school back home in Minnesota, always trying to create a better future for herself, a future far away from her little town. There were no opportunities for young people, so she decided to do whatever it takes to be able to become someone. So she studied a lot, forgot fun and focused on her upcoming career-oriented life. It took her long years, but finally, she did it.

She got accepted at one of the best colleges in the Big Apple and as soon as she found out, she kissed her mom goodby and took a first bus to the New York City. When she arrived, her primary concern was to find a job. No problems there for a cute girl, as she soon managed to get it as a waitress in a nice bar, very close to her campus. Finally, a new life, full of adventures, she thought that day, when she entered the campus. Smiling and full of energy, she came to the dorm and met her roommate. Hey, I'm Anna, said her newly found friend. So you're my new roommate, right? asked Anna. Yes, it's so nice to meet you. You're the first one I know here, replied Jenny and smiled. Oh, really? Well, let me then introduce you to a few cool guys and gals, said Anna and took Jenny around the campus to show her around.

They were walking along large buildings and houses, all of them a part of the campus. Jenny couldn't imagine to be in such a large complex, much bigger than her whole tiny town back home. It was all so strange to her that she suddenly felt a little home sick. But in that moment, Anna shouted Hello to a couple of guys nearby. They came closer and introduced themselves to Jenny. Happy to find new friends, she smiled and talked as much as possible, because she didn't want to get teased about being a small town girl. Thanks to her natural beauty and charm, she usually didn't have much problems getting new friends. This time wasn't any different. They have accepted her very quickly and invited her and Anna to a frat party, taking place the next evening at one of the houses at the campus. Excited to be among her new friends, Jenny immediately said Yes, I'd love to, and so they went back to her dorm.

Jenny unpacked her bags and started to put those few pieces of clothes she brought with in a closet, when Anna spotted her wardrobe. Oh no, no way you're gonna wear this kind of country clothing, while you're with me, she said and started to giggle. Jenny blushed, because in that moment she realised that her style needs to change, very quickly, if she wants to fit in. Could you please help me with this? she asked Anna. Sure, let's go shopping, said Anna and so they went to a nearby mall. Wow, so many nice clothes, said Jenny, shocked by offerings all around her, teasing her to try a whole new world.
