Anne smiled as he clicked the Purchase button on her computer. She had just bought a ticket to Africa. Zimbabwe to be exact. This was a spur of the moment purchase based on some pressure from her neighbors.

Anne was new in town, having just moved from Alabama to California. She was a sweet southern belle at heart but her husband was a smart engineer. He had gotten a job at a high tech firm in Mountain View and uprooted the two to bigger and supposedly better places.

It was strange at first, trying to acclimate herself to a different culture. Her sweet southern drawl was the talk of her neighborhood at one point. They had found it absolutely adorable the way she talked.

She was also a former beauty pageant contestant, getting several awards for second and sometimes first place. Though, after moving to California, she wondered if she could even reach the top ten with the abundance of pretty ladies around. Her neighbors thought otherwise, always complimenting her.

Anne got to know each and every one of her neighbors, her Southern hospitality easily making her neighbors into friends. She found it interesting that there was a small group of housewives who enjoyed international travel. They were more than happy to include her in their travels and talks of their adventures.

She had been contemplating on joining them on their next adventure but she consistently hesitated. Having never stepped out of the country, she initially didn’t even have a passport to get her out. Anne had just recently gotten her passport and once her neighbors had heard, they immediately told her to buy a ticket for their trip to Zimbabwe.

Anne wanted to go to a European country or possibly an exotic Asian country first, but her neighbors didn’t want her to wait. They constantly called or swung by her house, asking if she had bought her ticket. Today was the day she finally pulled the trigger.

Just as she sat back on her computer, her
