I am married and live in New Zealand. I have two adult children and six grandchildren. From my own experiences growing up, I know how it is to feel unimportant as a child and throughout adulthood. This prompted me to build a self help website to help adults who are going through low self esteem, lack of confidence, and other issues. I have now decided to go right to the root of all our pain and help children to become aware of how important and special they are. This is my hope with How To Be A Confident Kid for all children wherever they may be. I am a grandmother and I love my grandchildren. I do my best to instill into them how wonderful and unique, and of course how beautiful they are, each time I see them!

    Chapter 1

    Self Belief

Grandma told me when I want to believe in myself, I should start talking to myself! How dumb does that sound! My Gran seems to have weird ideas that make sense once she tells me what she means.

She explained that I am what I tell myself. When I keep saying I can't do things or that I am useless, this is what I believe. I stop myself from doing things because I don't think I can. This must be true, because a lot of the time I don't even try to do something because I have told myself I can't.
