About this ebook

Is there a game going on that rugby imitates? Like Plato's 'idea'?. Do the positions of the players have more relevance than being for the sole purpose of playing the game of rugby in its on field form? What was the game born from? Was it a need for sport? Or was the sport of it born from something else? From an attitude of a way to live one’s life? That it ‘the game of rugby’ is merely a simplistic and inarticulate cultural expression of something much more meaningful and relevant to our everyday lives?

The owner, third generation of the shop gathered up what old books were worth saving and packed them into boxes and loaded them into his van and got ready to leave. Not just his life long family livelihood, but also Christchurch forever.

As he stepped into the ruins for one last silent goodbye, a glint caught his eye. Half buried under some broken floorboards sat an old cake tin. He had never seen it before. Intrigued, he opened it and found inside a leather bound notebook. A journal. He put
