As I looked down onto the narrow river, hundreds of pale pink petals had gathered on both sides. They floated on the water below like the Milky Way above us. I stood near cherry trees in full bloom along the river in my neighborhood. It was six o'clock in the morning. Nobody was around. Warm spring winds encircled my body and the cherry trees, softly touching the petals to tell them it was time to fall.
