DJ's Dirty Secret

We sit on the porch, DJ and me. It's a warm summer day, the yellow-brown fields of wheat ripple in the wind. He rests his hand on my thigh, gives a little squeeze. I know what it means.

And then he stands, strolling to the edge of the field. There's none of the slouch to him, nor the lazy loping walk that seems to fit his style. He just... strolls.

And then I'm standing next to him.

He takes my hand in his, glances sideways with a little smile. He's got plans, this one.

And together we break through that wall of waist-high grass, leaving twin trails as we trample it underfoot. We head deep into the heart of the field where we'd be unseen, unnoticed. In the back of my mind I think of crop circles and how prankish teens form them with a long board and a length of rope, and how those same teens will take their girls into those fields and lay them in the heart of that ring of crushed wheat... to make love.

Before I know it I'm turning, lying down, the brittle stems pressed beneath the weight of my body. It should tickle, I imagine, with those straws poking through my shirt like tender needles. But for some reason it doesn't.

Before I know it he's got my pants off, and hoists each bare leg over his shoulders. I smile and lie back, waiting to become another notch on his belt...
