I was having major anxiety attacks over the thought of my grandma and me being homeless as the evil City Bank moved forward with its plans to foreclose on our house. At least I only had two more finals and this whole stupid high-school thing would be over; win or lose. I was ready to start working full time to bring in some real money to help my Nana out with the mortgage and I had senior-itis so bad it hurt. Plus, the thought of what to do with the rest of my life...if I actually did graduate, was starting to freak me out even more than my impending marriage to self-absorbed Gracie Burke.

Calm down Taylor; keep it together, I thought to myself as I walked down the crowded halls of Suburban High. Even though I have a prescription from friendly Doctor Lawson at the clinic, I was technically supposed to have Vera Wolinski, my high school's fat, hairy-lipped nurse, hand them out to me one at a time like I was in second grade. I'm eighteen now; a grown-ass man. If I want to take 4 bars of Xanax and wake up in the bed of a stranger, that was my prerogative.

I stuff my entire backpack into my rusty locker; thank god it's Friday. Normally I'd be happy the weekend was here, but if I couldn't persuade Old Ned from City bank to come to some kind of reasonable arrangement regarding Nana's house by Monday morning at 10am, then me and Nana were going to be moving into my tiny Toyota Corolla.

Earl, the dim-witted school janitor, looks up from his non-smart phone and grins at me with those yellow crooked teeth of his. Looking good Taylor, he says, a little too enthusiastically.
