    I love the wind.

    My Mistress Wind.

    Strong, powerful. Lashing and pummeling everything in her path.

    You can't see her, not until she does damage. Like changing a sliver of wood into a projectile; sending it slicing through the air until it impales something soft. Something that bleeds and cries.

    The wild Wind that drives the storm. Rousing me from my slumber. Roaring that she wants to play. Screaming, until I feel the hunger - the need - to play her rough, wicked games.

    I thank the gods that I am female; that I can embrace her strength, and be filled with her power.

    Mistress Wind, my violent friend. Tonight we play in the jungle of concrete and steel. Lightning brightens my path. Sheets of rain torment the ground, and show me the way.

    Invisible and prowling, Mistress Wind and I. Daughters of darkness and power.

    The storm.

    The dark.

    The star-less night.

    It's not fit for man nor beast, it's perfect for me and my wild friend.

    I can feel the excitement in the air, and smell it, and taste it, as Mistress Wind pulses her energy through me.

    She gathers herself, converging into a swirling funnel of energy, revealing my destination.

    At my feet is a puddle of water, reflecting a neon sign, Stu's Lounge. With a playful breath, Mistress Wind ripples the inverted image, confirming that this is where I should be.

    Did she choose well?

    Just a step through the door and I'll know.

    Yes, it's perfect. A haze of smoke drifts near the ceiling, helping to mask the smell of lost love, of fading dreams, of desperation and loneliness. Dirty light bulbs shine dimly on split upholstery. The floor near the spittoon is sticky where the patrons have taken aim and missed. There's
