What are miracles?

The dictionary defines the word miracle as a supernatural event or marvel; it is something that occurred that we cannot rationally explain. We all enjoy hearing stories about miracles that various people have experienced, and often try and work out in our minds how it happened, and whether or not it could have been possible.

We as Christians should have the faith to constantly expect miracles, both small and great from God our Father. Having a true belief and trust in God, and believing that he is our source of all things, puts us in the fortunate position that we can ask Him whatever we desire according to Mark 11:24 What things so ever you desire, when you pray believe that you receive them, and ye shall have them. Note that the Word says what so ever you desire it does not stipulate exactly what you should ask for.

Miracles do not always come in a tangible form, such as our daily needs or our physical healing, but very often our greatest miracle occurs when our spiritual eyes are opened to the truths of God. Receiving the numerous blessings that He has promised His children, like forgiveness for our sins, the ability to forgive others who have hurt us, to love our neighbors as ourselves, to gain wisdom of the word of God, compassion for others, gentleness and so on, are all daily miracles we receive from the hand of God.

As Christians, faith in God and His Divine Power is something that we should all have, and continually practice in our daily lives, in order to have a daily relationship with Him and to be able to ask for what ever we need. This might sound too simple for you, no complicated prayers or rituals to follow, all you have to do is ask our Heavenly Father for what you desire, and then put your belief into practice and do not doubt his Word one iota.

This does not of course mean that you will always receive your answer immediately, although it does happen at times; but very often our Loving Father teaches us patience while we are waiting for the answer to our prayers, to come to fruition. In the waiting for our desires to be met, we often find that we enjoy spiritual growth and maturity that we would not otherwise have experienced, had our needs been met immediately.

The scriptures are so rich in promises of the blessings of God for our daily needs and our physical healing. God promises to bless our descendants as well, if we obey Him and fear Him with upright hearts. There are so many portions of scripture that are so precious; try and memorize those that are especially meaningful to you.

Matthew 21:22 is a portion of scripture that is well worth memorizing: …and all things, whatsoever you shall ask in prayer, believing, you shall receive. It
