Kevin Moore was born and raised, in a small town, in Southwest Pennsylvania. A blue-collar worker all his life, he married in his mid- twenties, and raised four children. He has been socially active with his church and a member of the session for more than five years. With a love and passion for writing poetry, he has put together a collection of some of his poems and thoughts to come up with a book which he hopes to bring enjoyment to all who read it. Chapter One

God and Science

One of the biggest diversities in life is the tension between God and Science. Those who have read the Bible understand that the earth was formed by God. Those who lean toward the scientific aspect say the earth began with the Big Bang Theory.

The Bible speaks of Earth in three phases, or life cycles, if you will. The first being the creation of the universe with the stars, the sun, planets, etc. The second is the present starting with the creation of Adam and leading clear through to the end of life on Earth. The third, which is stated as Heaven on Earth, is at the end of Revelations and the end of the Bible.

Trying to apply Science to the idea of God creating the earth may be just this simple. Think of it as a sculptor making a clay pot. It is created, studied, and if and when improvements come to light, another is made, only better. Using this concept, the first pot may either be kept or it may be discarded. In any case, in a series of worlds that God may have created, traces of the past will still always be in existence. In the stones, in the sands, in the dried up tar pits, and even in the stars. This is, by no means, giving admittance to any faults with God, it is simply showing that life through time and growth must have adjustments. Science promotes evolution by using DNA and other sources, like Carbon Dating, to prove its point. If I am not mistaken, I believe it has been stated that DNA is the blueprints of life. Compare this to, say, the blueprints for a house. The basic plan is still the same, a floor, a ceiling, and four walls. When you start adding to the plans, and making adjustments, the finished product can be as different as a mobile home and a mansion. Take the basic plan for a mammal, it’s not necessarily evolution, but different species which may have been created in the previous Earths.

Modern man and, we’ll say, Neanderthal Man were not necessarily related by evolution but by basic DNA. Monkeys are all related by DNA but are all different, not by evolution but by design. God created a world with all living creatures, plants, and animals alike, to dwell together, each having its own design and use for existence.

Think for a moment and imagine the earth being about thirty percent larger at one time. The larger mass would lead to increased size of most of the animals and plants on the surface. It has been stated and believed that a meteor could have struck the earth and ended life as we presumed it to be. With the destruction of the planet, the meteor may have caused the earth to split and possibly lose a large mass which is now the moon. It has also been stated, all of the continents were, at one time, one large mass. After the destruction of the earth, God molded the earth and moon back into separate spheres, and once again, breathed life into the planet to begin the Human Earth Era. This could explain why there are still remains of dinosaurs and fossils on this planet, how the continents were separated and displaced around the globe, and an explanation of possible evidence of pre-existing life on the moon.

Just as in the beginning, it is the same now. God did not name and identify the animals, or classify them, this was left up to Adam or man, in the past and now, in the present. New species are still being discovered in today’s world. This does not necessarily mean they have evolved from another but that they may have just never been seen before. If you were to take a ball of clay, and suddenly break a small chunk off of it, and then remold it back into a ball, it leaves a line or crevasse on one side. Could this be the same as the Mariana Trench, located in the Pacific Ocean? The dark side of the moon has never been exposed to a line of sight from the earth to see the appearance of its surface. Could the dark side of the moon be concealing the same type of crevasse or trench?

Scientist also believe that the earth will eventually burn itself out of existence, from the inside out. The time lines may be different but the chain of events are still the same, whether it is through science or religion. Both have a beginning, a middle comprised of human existence, and an ending. Or does it?

The Bible does tell of the end of existence on earth but only to give way to the Third Phase of life cycles on Earth. Revelations states that human existence will end with the descending of Heaven on Earth. Thus beginning the third phase which is at long last, Peace on Earth. The second phase of earth will never truly see peace for the simple reason of the sin which has a constant presence on earth. All of the adversities which are present with sin holds us back from true peace as a being or race. We have known hate, which means it will remain as long as we do. The same holds true for evil, anger, sin, and all else that works against peace. A different level of Peace is not something that is completely out of reach. It can be accomplished by one looking out for another, and another helping out one. The main problem with this is, as stated before, with evil and sin present, it is impossible to obtain one hundred percent cooperation from the entire Human Race.

It is my belief that the existence of total peace is real. It is seen every time someone has what is known as a near death experience. People report that while they were considered deceased, they remember seeing a brilliant light. Through the history of life, there have only been two who have seen Heaven well enough to describe it, God and his Holy Son, Jesus Christ. The concept of total peace is basically inconceivable to the human race because we have never known a life without some kind of anger or sorrow. Total peace is like reliving the best day of your life over and over again, only a thousand times more enjoyable. Since man cannot fathom the likes of this, he has no visions, no words to try to describe this sight. It is first recognized as a bright light or a grand presence, which draws you toward it as the feeling of wanting pure peace and enjoyment. It is a presence that cannot be seen or described because there are no words or images for the human race to understand its power.

Chapter Two

GOD’S POWER

God is the Power, God is the way,

He created the night, and then formed the day.

He brought forth on Earth, plants to behold,

He brought forth the animals, some fierce and some bold.

Adam from dust, a rib to make Eve,

To create all these wonders, it’s hard to conceive.

Jesus was born, and placed on this Earth,

To teach us
