Roadside Assistance

It was a quiet night. So quiet that I was about to hit the sack for a quick nap instead of sitting up and waiting for one of my eventual service calls. See, I provide roadside assistance under contract with a local towing company to people that get stuck or stranded, but don’t really need a tow. I’m the late-night guy that takes on the calls from 11:00 at night until 5:00 in the morning.

The late 11 to 5 shift doesn’t necessarily get a lot of calls, but in this day and age of more people working graveyard shifts, I’ve become a valued resource to many. I’m the guy that nobody wants to have to call, but I’m seen as an automotive savior when folks do need to call for help.

One of the things I like about my job is that I get to sit at home and relax while waiting for a call instead of hanging around a towing company office. So, I was thinking about looking up some good porn on my computer and whacking off, and maybe catching a quick cat nap when the Repeat phone rang.

Most of my calls come from the towing company’s dispatcher, but the Repeat phone is a direct-dial to me for customers I’ve serviced before and their referrals. I like repeat customers because I don’t have to pay a percentage to the towing company when they or their referred friends call me directly.
