About this audiobook

This audiobook is narrated by a digital voice.

“Let’s hear it for Jack Wolf… A bad boy with gentleman instincts, this sexy W.I.S.H. hero warms our hearts and fires our fantasies with his winning ways… Blending just the right amount of sizzle, warmth and strong plotting, Pamela Burford dishes up a superior recipe for a delectable reading treat.”

— RT Book Reviews (4 stars, W.I.S.H Hero)

A witty romantic mystery about second chances.

A violent nor’easter leaves Meg Wolf stranded on her uncle’s private island with a handful of quirky relatives, her three children, her brand-new fiancé... and her ex-husband, Jack! Meg has moved on from her bad-boy ex, really she has. After all, her fiancé is a well-to-do, buttoned-up lawyer, just the kind of stable stepdad her kids need—and the kind of second husband she needs after an impoverished upbringing that left her longing for financial security above all. He’s certainly an improvement over Jack, who owns a brew pub and has no use for the nine-to-five life or a regular paycheck. It’s why they divorced.

And if her fiancé doesn’t turn her on the way Jack always has, well, you can’t have everything, right? Once the storm hits and the lights go out, Meg is determined to resist her sexalicious ex and do whatever she has to, to get through the most strained Thanksgiving family reunion in history.

An awkward love triangle is one thing. A murder mystery is another. And that’s what it looks like when one of the wacky relatives turns up dead. Suddenly fingers are pointing and everyone is under suspicion, and Meg discovers what really makes a man.

Winner of the RT Book Reviews W.I.S.H. Hero Award, thanks to yummy bad-boy hero Jack! Originally published as Jacks Are Wild. This book is part of the three-book Wild Ones series of stand-alone romantic suspense novels, which can be read in any order.

Pamela Burford

Pamela Burford comes from a funny family. You may take that any way you want. She was raised in a household that valued laughter above all, so of course the first thing she looked for in a husband was a sense of humor. Is it any wonder their grown kids are into stand-up comedy and improv? It should come as no surprise that everything Pamela writes is infused with her own quirky brand of humor, from her feel-good contemporary romance and romantic suspense novels to her popular Jane Delaney mystery series, featuring snarky “Death Diva” Jane, her canine sidekick Sexy Beast, and a fun love-triangle subplot. Pamela's own beloved poodle, Murray, wants you to know that any similarities between himself and neurotic, high-strung Sexy Beast are purely coincidental. Pamela is the proud founder and past president of Long Island Romance Writers. Her books have won awards and sold millions of copies, but what excites her most is hearing from readers. She’d love it if you could take a few moments to post a review at the online store where you bought this book, and any other sites, such as Goodreads, where you like to share thoughts about books you’ve enjoyed. She’s grateful for the effort happy readers take to spread the word. It helps her and it helps your fellow readers. When you join Pamela’s newsletter, not only will you learn about new releases, freebies, and other fun stuff, but you'll receive a free ebook as her special thank-you. I LOVED THIS BOOK! Meg had grown up in a trailer park with a gad who couldn't hold a real job, lying to her mom that the money making scheme would make them rich time after time, and then she fell for Jack who wanted to have his brewery. I liked that Jack fought hard to make his dream come true and never stop loving Meg.
