It seemed like there was a lot going on. To the point that I wondered if the book should have been a duet. I also wondered if the rest of the series fills in the missing pieces. The gaps don't ruin the story but I feel that it's worth it to mention that there are major pieces missing that a reader might want to be prepared for. Plot was good. Book was sprinkled with spice. Overall a good quick read. 3.5 stars
