Beautiful writing, the story felt very real and raw. The voice actors were perfect. My only draw is I felt the story was too short. I appreciate there not being any exaggerated climaxes to the story it helped it feel more relatable to real circumstances, but I feel there could’ve been further exploration of their story outside of her divorce but I get that is the purpose of the book so it felt like just the beginning. I wish we could get more of them.

Okay, simple synopsis.

High school lovers got married due to an unplanned pregnancy. Unlike some books of this ilk, this couple made it through that difficult time and went on to succeed educationally with him becoming a coach at a HBC and she a PH.D and Author.

However, after a time, and dare I say “familiarity” and “taking her for granted “ comes into play. A beautiful, smart daughter later, Jules notices that things are not the same between her and her husband Quentin. Over the years she has ignored and forgiven his indiscretions because she made a vow, even though he broke it numerous times. A new indiscretion by Quenton produces a baby and that is the last straw for Jules.

Enter “Z” Ezekiel, a mountain of delicious smooth dark chocolate fit to eat. The sexual tension between Jules and Z is unmistakable, fast and furious.

This author clearly knows her way around how to write a fast-paced love fest without leaving a single dangling thing left to the imagination. I swear this novel is so hot it can make a woman pregnant right through the pages. (LOL)

I especially liked that Ezekial knew he’d been bitten by a torrid and unrelenting love-bug and he went with it. With everything he had going for him, he knew he had to have this beautiful smart woman, even if it meant going against everything he knew about faithfulness. The sex between the two was hot, unpretentious, and exploratory.

The explosive and contentious verbal conversation between Ezekial and Quention at the end was crazy good, with each laying claim to the prize both of them wanted, but only one would get.
When Quention told Z that his dick had a 20 year imprint on his wife’s P*ssy shaped to fit ONLY him, Ezekial didn’t bat and eye and merely responded, “things change and she’s willing to learn new things “and he was the new instructor in town. I had to go back and listen to it again. Mercy!

I have recommended this novel to two book clubs, because it is fast paced, an excellent read and well worth it.

I also want to give Kudos to narrator Jacob Diem, whose smooth sexy voice made this a superb listen for audio book lovers.

I love the story through and through. I honestly saw myself in a few scenes. Nonetheless, a beautiful love story. i also, thought it was pretty cool how they had some of the same life experiences. He was truly her modern day knight in shining armor. I would recommend this book to anyone who is a true hopeless romantic.

P.S. I only wish there were books for the other 2 couples in the story.

In this book, we are introduced to Dr. Jemma Holiday and Dr. Ezekiel Green. Dr. Green meets Dr. Holiday when he is interviewing for a Provost position at Monroe University, the HBCU where Jemma is the VP of Student Affairs. The attraction between the two is instant, but Jemma is married to the school's track coach Quinton Holiday. Jemma and Quinton met at Monroe Univ. and have been married for 20 years. They married when Jemma realized she was pregnant with their daughter, Shiloh, at the age of 20. Unhappily married, she is tempted to have a rendezvous with Ezekiel. However, she decides not to, and the two just begin to know each other as acquaintances. When Ezekiel is hired for the position, they have to interact with each other on a professional level. Then Jemma discovers that her suspicions of her husband's infidelity were correct in a humiliating way. This is when she begins to rediscover who she is with the assistance of Ezekiel. Overall, I enjoyed Jemma's transformation. I also love how patient Ezekiel was with her considering the fact that he was newly divorced. Then what times when I felt like she should wait and get her affairs in order. I also felt that she needed time for herself, which she does take throughout the book. Without giving too much information, Quintin was awful!
