About this audiobook

Here begins the thrilling story of a young vigilante, though he’d never call himself such. Marvin simply has certain… needs. Needs which can only be satisfied by watching people suffer. Pedophiles annoy him, so he targets them. Don’t worry, though—Marvin’s not big on blood. He prefers the mental sort of suffering, which in many ways is all the more gruesome. Of course, sometimes things get out of hand, and blood cannot be prevented.

A therapist by day and a stalker and intruder by night, Marvin continues with his never-ending quest to induce and spectate emotional turmoil in strangers. It’s a game he’s played for all of his adult life, a game he loves—a game he’s good at. But as time goes on, Marvin begins to take on more victims than he can handle—dangerous victims, the likes of which he’s never encountered—and before long, he’s in way over his head.

Jason Marshall

When not writing and hosting the Math Dude’s Quick and Dirty Tips to Make Math Easier podcast, Jason Marshall works as a staff research scientist at the California Institute of Technology (Caltech) studying the infrared light emitted by starburst galaxies and quasars. Before that, he was a postdoctoral scholar at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL). Jason obtained a PhD from Cornell University, where he worked with the team of astronomers that built the IRS (nothing to do with taxes) instrument for the Spitzer Space Telescope and helped teach many physics and astronomy classes. In addition to these astronomical pursuits, Jason has many earthly interests: traveling the world, tinkering with technology, watching and playing soccer, and spending time with his wife, Shannon, fixing up their small but increasingly comfortable Los Angeles area home.
