This is a fantastic debut, the way her writing came around in the end, the subtleness of some of it, but when you see it it’s beautiful. I wasn’t sure how I felt until the end. I’ve read a lot of this genre, I suspected some of it, but an author shouldn’t be docked stars for that. She did it well, she had great characters, easy but smart writing. I will read anything this author comes out with next.
I also listened to an interview with her after I read the novel and she’s very driven and humble and down to earth, and I love seeing writers succeed like this. Her education is not surprising with how great her writing is. That nickname- Live Wire, masterful really. I won’t say anything more..
I’m horrible with reviewing books on this app, this is the first I’ve done, and it’s because I really want more people to read this debut authors novel.
Loved the narrator as well. The twang on her voice came at just the right moments, I found myself rewinding at some points just to hear her again.
