Gretchen Felker-Martin's Manhunt is an explosive post-apocalyptic novel that follows trans women and men on a grotesque journey of survival.

“A modern horror masterpiece.” —Carmen Maria Machado, bestselling author of In the Dream House

“Keeps up a relentless velocity while just being plain fun as hell.”—Torrey Peters, author of Detransition, Baby

Beth and Fran spend their days traveling the ravaged New England coast, hunting feral men and harvesting their organs in a gruesome effort to ensure they'll never face the same fate.

Robbie lives by his gun and one hard-learned motto: other people aren't safe.

After a brutal accident entwines the three of them, this found family of survivors must navigate murderous TERFs, a sociopathic billionaire bunker brat, and awkward relationship dynamics—all while outrunning packs of feral men, and their own demons.

A Macmillan Audio production from Tor Nightfire.

Editor's Note

Horror masterpiece…

In “Manhunt,” Felker-Martin creates a grotesque and brutal post-apocalyptic world where a plague is turning men into violent cannibals, and two trans women are trying to survive by any means necessary. Part suspense, part gender commentary, this modern horror masterpiece will keep you on your toes.

I didn't think I would like this - I've been VERY skeptical of the whole gender plague genre since I read the first volume of Y The Last Man and just found it boring. But this is visceral and complex, heartbreaking and hopeful. Definitely the trans-est book I've ever read, which is super refreshing, and the most honest about how weird and gross and erotic it is to exist as a human being made of meat. The writing is cinematic, beautiful and disgusting. I wouldn't recommend it to everybody! It's not a comfortable read (or listen), on many levels. This is the kind of book that makes me rethink sh@ring an acc0unt with my mother. But it does what it sets out to do, and does it well.

Debbie Does Dallas meets 28 Days Later in a No Escape setting during the end of civilization in a post-apocalyptic testosterone-less society. E is the drug of choice, however it stands for estrogen not ecstasy. A hate triangle of people who are trans, biological women, and feral men. The story didn't flow as well as I felt it could have as there was a lot of jumping around that made it hard to tell who's who at times. Bit of a drag at the halfway point, but an exciting climax at the end. The author had a great start, but seemed as if they were sprinting through a marathon in the middle. Overall though a solid story that I would recommend

Assuming you got the balls for it.

God this was so bad. The narrator does a good job (maybe not the Boston accent, I’m not that familiar with those), but WHAT IS THIS PLOT??? So unfocused. Just a series of gore and sex scenes.

Vile, misogynistic fantasies propped up as a "masterpiece". Shameful, but a good insight in some males psyche....

This book is terribly written and the writer is clearly hateful of women whether or not they identify as one.
