Bless, Laura must be the most unpleasant protagonist in existence. She doesn't have a shred of humility, character, self-awareness, or kindness. I only listened to it because I'd watched the Netflix cotton candy & popcorn version (tasty, but completely unwholesome and lacking in substance) and while the actors did an admirable job portraying their characters in - ahem - challenging scenes, I thought perhaps the book might be better. Shockingly, no. Laura's vapid, rude, and arrogant, with the emotional depth of a teaspoon. Massimo has turned into a drug-addled psycho, and Nacho is some kind of assassin/hippie hybrid. Oh, well.
