About this audiobook

Stephanie Plum returns to hunt down a new kind of criminal operating out of Trenton in the twenty-eighth book in the wildly popular series by #1 New York Times bestselling author Janet Evanovich.

When Stephanie Plum is woken up in the middle of the night by the sound of footsteps in her apartment, she wishes she didn’t keep her gun in the cookie jar in her kitchen. And when she finds out the intruder is fellow apprehension agent Diesel, six feet of hard muscle and bad attitude whom she hasn’t seen in more than two years, she still thinks the gun might come in handy.

Turns out Diesel and Stephanie are on the trail of the same fugitive: Oswald Wednesday, an international computer hacker as brilliant as he is ruthless. Stephanie may not be the most technologically savvy sleuth, but she more than makes up for that with her dogged determination, her understanding of human nature, and her willingness to do just about anything to bring a fugitive to justice. Unsure if Diesel is her partner or her competition, she’ll need to watch her back every step of the way as she works to draw Wednesday out from behind his computer and into the real world in this “action-packed caper filled with crazy twists and some nail-biting suspense” (Booklist, starred review).

    The Story:

This series always pulls me right in and I love it. This installation was light on the Range appearances and I think everyone was upset about that. I look forward to the next installation.

Perfect Stephanie Plum story. Again our fearless bounty hunter charges forward and saves the day. I love her. Her circle of friends and family are so well developed. Individual and believable. Morelli is to me a perfect book boyfriend.
    When the next one?

So Stephanie remains as inept as ever... yet Ranger, Diesel and Morelli have few concerns about her trying to apprehend a serial killer (who tortures his victims), while armed with only pepper spray and handcuffs. I listened to this series as fun escapism but eventually stopped as no one ever seemed to develop. I needed a lighthearted mystery, though, so thought I would try again with this one. The plot was more interesting than I remember earlier ones to be, but Stephanie chasing the bad guy in this scenario was way too far-fetched. Her ineptitude was cringeworthy rather than comical.

I actually really love this series! It is a nice easy read that you don’t have to listen to so intensely like some other books. I enjoy listening to the series while I am on a drive, or doing work around the house. I can’t wait to listen to more
