About this audiobook
This program is read by the author.
The ultimate guide on leadership from the #1 New York Times bestselling co-author of Extreme Ownership.
In the military, a field manual provides instructions in simple, clear, step-by-step language to help soldiers complete their mission. In the civilian sector, books offer information on everything from fixing a leaky faucet to developing an effective workout program to cooking a good steak.
But what if you are promoted into a new position leading your former peers? What if you don’t get selected for the leadership position you wanted? How do you overcome imposter syndrome, when you aren’t sure you should be leading? As a leader, how do you judiciously dole out punishment? What about reward? How do you build trust with your both your superiors and your subordinates? How do you deliver truthful criticism up and down the chain of command in a tactful and positive way?
These are all questions about leadership—the most complex of all human endeavors. And while there are books out there that provide solid leadership principles, books like Extreme Ownership and The Dichotomy of Leadership, there is no leadership field manual that provides a direct, situational, pragmatic how-to guide that anyone can instantly put to use.
Until now. Leadership Strategy and Tactics explains how to take leadership theory, quickly translate that theory into applicable strategy, and then put leadership into action at a tactical level. This audiobook is the solution that leaders at every level need—not just to understand the leadership game, but also how to play the leadership game, and win it.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This is hands down the best, comprehensive leadership guide. Jocko's books are best consumed when read by him but I loved it so much that I purchased my own physical copy plus a few more to gift.

I will recommend any day ?? - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5So much great takeaways from a Navy Seal love the book love the podcast keep doing you Jocko!
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Good book. But leader beware, the examples used come from Special Operation Operators. They are screened and tested vigorously prior to coming onto a team. So the maturity level may be different in your organizations. Otherwise these are great “ways” and shouldn’t be seen as the “only way” to approach certain situations. Other than that, very clear and concise read. It’s not overwhelmingly complicated but straight forward. No need to grab a dictionary because he talks in a vocabulary that’s simple for everyone to understand.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Excellent book to read. It provides quality tips and a thorough explanation to help you improve your leadership skills.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Amazing book on leadership! Everyone should read this, it’s a must! A leader in a company or just someone staring off in high school. A lot of wisdom and knowledge you get in this book that you can take with you in your life
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Outstanding, life changing! I can't believe the changes I've seen in just a short time since I started implementing these strategies. Definitely a must read, along with his other book Extreme Ownership. Both are very humbling and motivational.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I've come back to this book from time to time to refresh the lessons learned. In my opinion, it's the most concise, actual leadership lessons book that Jocko has. Still with good stories, but a greater focus on leadership examples and how to overcome issues than in previous books. Highly recommended!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5It really is a great book, can’t wait for him to write another one
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This books gives me a whole new reason to love the people fighting for America.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Perfect for military personnel. Felt like the examples were from real life.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Practical and challenging. If your looking to grow in your leadership this book is for you.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Whether new to leadership or a seasoned leader this is an absolute must read, should be in your library and one you come back to as a refresher over and over again. I love and appreciate how practical, straight forward and direct the tactics are as well as how applicable and actionable the strategies are vs. many leadership books that are theory and hypothetically based. I can even see how you could build a leadership training program around it. Well done Jocko.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5So useful, nuanced, sophisticated, plenty of context dependent reality and insight. To me a voice teacher for singers of different styles and background and approach a precious tool to refine and see better approach and ways of being useful and effective for them doing a very stressful and demanding job when real and under the spotlight. Thank you Mr Willink, you have written something profoundly useful.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5In a brutal and head on approach, Jocko compiles a list of best practices for a leader to follow (mostly derived from both previous books, but presented in a "cleaner" version)
As a military officer I wish I had read this earlier on my career as it would have served me well on more than one occasion, but very glad to have come across it, it's never to late to own our shortcomings and do better! - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Joko is a truthful and convicting author. thanks!!! thanks echelon front for taking experiences and simplifying them for the civilian world. I've learned a ton from your books and will continue to build on that!!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Very good book about team building and the understanding of the overall blanket of management. Not only of managing your own team but also a lateral understanding on how to communicate better as a whole organization of teams from top to bottom.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Fantastic guide to leadership. A must read for anyone wanting to further their leadership, social, and business skills
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Another great book by Jocko. In fact, I think this is his best one. I have listened to his podcast and I really love his approach to addressing all sides of issues. He points out there is always a common sense approach with multiple solutions. Thank you Jocko.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Jocko always delivers! Love to keep learning his leadership principles.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Great book! I plan on purchasing a hard copy to use as a reference. I would recommend for anyone who leads a team, wants to be a leader, or just wants to know how to be a better employee. Great insight for anyone who works in a professional environment.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5“It’s not about you, it’s about the team”
These words couldn’t be more important and impactful for leaders. All to often leaders forget that it’s not because of them that their companies and teams are successful, but the team you lead that fosters that success.
This book is for those who have let go of the ego and are ready to lead. Truly lead.
Just finished this book and giving it another listen to right now. Valuable insights and great food for thought. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Awesome book! This book is great for new & senior leaders!
