I hate that I always have to wait so long for the next book!!!!

Ok, the Cast girls have done it again, I loved this book. The struggle of Aurox was clear. Zoey, though some see her as a weak character, faces her fears head on time after time, this shows courage. Stevie Rae is coming into her own as a leader in her own right. And I'm loving seeing Shaylin's character grow. I'm very curious to see if Erin and Kalona continue on the paths they've chosen or will they turn back to what they once knew. I'd also like to see the High Council more involved and not just through Thanatos. And the confirmation of suspicions cast in book 9 revealed at the end of this book have me salivating for the next installment!

How many times does Zoey have to save the day? I mean, yeah it's not just her, she has a team of great friends who stand beside her every step of the way. She's had a number of boyfriends. She now has a warrior. It's getting a little out of hand. Shes got the Council behind her, but bad things come her way. I'm starting to think there are way too many books in this series and I'm not finished yet. Even Harry Potter had 7.
And for all the bad things that Neferet has been doing, you would think that she alone was the immortal one. No one could live that fall, or when they said its not over at the end, is that because of the spiders? Is that really the Tsi Sgili? A little confused and of course I will read the next book, cause I'm a sucker for needing to know how the story ends. Last thought: why does Aurox get to live if he was created by Darkness? Shouldn't he be dead or disappear like the tendrils?

This book is horrible. I have read all the other 9 books, so I cant just abandoned the series now. It's a relief that only two more books are left.

There is absolutely no plot in this book. Nothing happened, absolutely nothing. The book was painstakingly boring. I am bored out of my mind by the same invoking of elements in the circle. For heaven sake pls stop it. I don't need any more description of the elements and its damn circle.

What the hell the authors are doing with Erin's character! They just have to create some versatility in the characters. So yeah go ahead and lets make her evil. And amazing friends she had. They didn't spare a minute to give her or worry about her going evil!

AT the end of the book the biggest secret was revealed. Guess what, guess what! Aurax is actually Heath. Oh really? I had no clue. Such a great twist, it made my heart stop with surprise!

And God knows from where, out of the blue some magic spell saved the day. It didn't have any explanation, any connection at all. It didn't feel like magic to me at all. It felt utterly stupid to me. And after the fall when Nefret was suppose to die, she didn't die. Of course, she is an immortal! But she turned into thousand spiders!!! Really, really? You couldn't think of anything else!

At the end of the book, I can't stand any of them. I just wish they all die, all of them. Then at least this misery will be over and I will be able to get rid of this headache of a series for good.

I thought that this book was irritating. There were some things that I liked about this, but I found the characters to be frustrating, selfish, and exactly what they have been 'fighting' against this whole time. After 10 books they hold grudges, and refuse to believe that people change, or can make life changes, or choose good even if they haven't always. Zoey was the most irritating of them all. She acts so self important and in charge when really she did not contribute much at all to this book. I think it's time to wrap this series up. Like 3 or so books ago.

My initial thought after starting this book was I wasn't sure if I was going to like it flipping constantly from viewpoint to viewpoint. (Which is what I thought it was going to do with the sections labeled with names.) Then I came to understand that it was more a concentration on one character. Which wasn't so bad once you figure it out and get used to it.

The teenager characters are believable and relate able, even if you aren't a teenager. Even if they are dealing with a supernatural end of the world darkness, the underlying reactions and emotions are similar to real life. Sometimes the constant bickering between the "Friends" got to be a little much, but I guess it's to be expected from a book about teenagers. I found myself agreeing with Thanatos.. in part of the book she said, "How can we battle the great and ancient Darkness that has been newly loosed upon this world if we are no more than bickering children?"

I know that a series has to have an overlying story arc, but to me to have a "the whole world is ending and I have to find a way to stop it" issue in every book is a little much. I guess I wonder why it has to be so dramatic and almost over the top... It's almost like what people say about the Die Hard movies, there is no way that one man can get into that much trouble or walk into that much. I don't see how one little group of teenagers could really get pulled into so much.

There was plenty of interesting twists and turns in this book to keep me reading. When the group isn't bickering and being annoying in general I enjoyed the story a lot. Overall I liked the book, and the characters did grow personally in this one.

I hope this review doesn't come across as me ranting.. That is not my intention, just how I felt while reading the book.

This may have been my favorite House of Night book yet. There wasn't a whole lot of action, but there was enough at the end (as usual) and some interesting surprises.

I'm very unhappy to have to wait a year for the next book, though!

REVIEW: with spoilers. Be warned.

Okay... So, Hidden is the tenth, yes, you read it right, book in the House of Night Series which was released last October 16th. Uh, the book started where Destined, the ninth book, left off. Or more accurately, in the first chapter of this book, it was showing Neferet and what she's doing before Aurox went to Grandma Redbird's home and wreck havoc by killing Dragon Langford (Is the surname right?). So the concept is pretty good. Okay-ish. But as we all know it's really slow right from the start of this series.

I mean, I'm pretty sure almost all of you wants Neferet to drop dead as in right now, yes? I believe my friends wanted to know if Neferet dies in this book. I'll tell you later. I know you people don't have the energy to read this anymore. So yes, I'm gonna spoil it for ya.

There's good in this book. We all know how Zoey and the rest of the nerd herds plus the Queen of Bitch, Aphrodite are all 'bickering children', Thanatos words not mine but I so agree with her. And that didn't actually change from the start of the book. Plus, Zoey is being her whiny self and wallowing with grief and her snot. That didn't change too. BUT, Thank the Goddess, after 20 Chapters I think, the Goddess Nyx actually rephrase this "stop being whiny, you're not helping yourself or anyone for that matter. Stop bawling your eyes out" in a super nice way to Zoey. LOL.

Oh, remember how Erin and Shaunee un-Twined in the ninth book? Well, Erin became a bitch. As in real bitch and decided to hang out and make out (ugh, ewww) with Dallas. Shaunee is pretty nice and started to have her own identity which they all love. Also, there's Shaylin, the first red fledgling that was marked. She was gifted by Nyx the True Sight, she could see auras plus... SPOILER ALERT, she replaced Erin's place as water in the circle.

Aurox... I think we all know who Zoey saw in the Seer stone in Destined. Heath. Yes, Zoey's dead boyfriend. Heath's soul is inside Aurox's body. He became Aurox's humanity. That is why Aurox run back in the house of Grandma.

And then there's Neferet. I was like "It's not really surprising that they'll shun you, you know." when the High Council decided against her. And she has the face to look shock at that one. Seriously, you are one heck of a nutcase, Neferet. So I was whooping for joy for about a minute when she fall off that damn balcony and said "Finally! Die, Neferet! Die!" And I actually believe it for that whole minute... BUT suddenly, I remembered that that insane woman is now freakin' immortal. Oh, for the love of all things holy. When will you die, Neferet?!

For ten books, you give them pain and sorrow... When will they have the chance to kill you for good? Sigh. From the start, she's the main enemy... UNTIL NOW. and STILL her.

2.5 stars. It's not that bad, not that good either. Gueas that's it. Oh, by the way, Kalona was now in the good side and I think on his way to Nyx's forgiveness. And Erebus is just so freakin' selfish. I hope the Goddess zap him. >:(

I did get a little frustrated with Zoey and co.'s inability to deal with people changing sides- especially coming to their side. It was good seeing growth from several characters, and I look forward to seeing them continue to evolve. If Aphrodite ends up going too nice, she'll get boring, but I do see a lot of improvement. I'm sad about the way the twins went- I've been a friend twin and it really is a deep and special bond (my friend twin is still my best friend, but we're not in a twin state). I will be sad if Erin and Shaunee can't be friends again.

I still love the story and am so glad most of the pop culture references are gone. It was harder for me to get through. But I loved the ending and so glad that I finished the book

When I first started reading this series around 6 or 7 years ago, I started out really liking it.

Meanwhile things started to change, since book 7 or 8 I started to like the series less and less. Maybe I'm growing old or maybe they just get worse, how series often do if they get too long, but whatever the reason this doesn't really work for me anymore.

The writing is still good but the more POVs are added, the less I like these and in Hidden there were A LOT of POVs.

I really dislike abandoning series, especially once I really loved at some point, so I'm not sure yet what I'll do when the next book comes out.

The truth is out and Zoey couldn't be more relieved. Everyone including the High Council knows about the evil that Neferet has become. But Neferet is still on the loose. She has broken with Tulsa's House of Night, but she's no where near close to being finished with them. Creating chaos, her actions will divide the Daughters of Darkness. They will need to put their issues aside if they hope to defeat Neferet.Good read! This series has really been touch and go for me. I adored the first four books - then I lost interested in the series. But the last two books Destined and Hidden have really drawn me back to the series. The one downside to the books, at least for me is Neferet. We've had 10 books now of her causing all sorts of trouble for the students at the House of Night. I think it's time for her story to come to an end. Hidden is darkness and brings more danger for Zoey and her friends. I did enjoyed this story and I think readers will be mostly satisfied with this book. It'll be interesting to see what will happen next in this world.Hidden is narrated by Caitlin Davies. I have grown to easily love her voice. In the House of Night there are just so many different voices and she does everyone so perfectly. I especially love the voices she does for Stevie Ray and Martin (Lenobia's mate).
