Her company Diana Ferrus Publishers publishes the work of writers from previously disadvantaged communities. In association with the University of the Western Cape, she has published the life stories of former activists and unionists: Liz Nana Abrahams, Zollie Malindi and Archie Sibeko.
Her bilingual works have been published in various collections and as prescribed texts for high school learners, and have had a bearing and influence on matters of race,
