About this audiobook

Once Upon a Broken Heart marks the launch of a new series about love, curses, and the lengths that people will go to for happily ever after from #1 New York Times bestselling author Stephanie Garber

"Soler embodies a fairy-tale world full of vibrant characters with unique voices . . . This sultry fantasy will leave listeners guessing to the very end." —AudioFile Magazine

For as long as she can remember, Evangeline Fox has believed in true love and happy endings…until she learns that the love of her life will marry another.

Desperate to stop the wedding and to heal her wounded heart, Evangeline strikes a deal with the charismatic, but wicked, Prince of Hearts. In exchange for his help, he asks for three kisses, to be given at the time and place of his choosing.

But after Evangeline’s first promised kiss, she learns that bargaining with an immortal is a dangerous game — and that the Prince of Hearts wants far more from her than she’d pledged. He has plans for Evangeline, plans that will either end in the greatest happily ever after, or the most exquisite tragedy...

I'll say it I didn't care for Caraval. ??‍♀️ Jacks was the only thing I liked and seeing that he was a main in this I had to do it and I absolutely loved this (rolled my eyes when Scarlett and her sister show up for that little second) but I absolutely adored it.

I might do a more indepth review but I imagine everyone is right now so I'm leave it at I loved it.

That crypt seen was ???. That’s impressive for a book that has been very PG-13.

Absolutely love this world. Light-hearted, enough angsty love without being too melodramatic.

This book is an amalgam of all the fantasy books I've read this past few years. It's hard to judge where the story will go in the rest of the series but I guess it's going to be an enemies to lovers.
It reminded me of The invisible life of The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue and the Sorcery of thrones in particular...

2.5/5⭐️ Unfortunately, this book was rather disappointing. The premise was great but the delivery fell flat. The main character got on my nerves. She’s stubborn, naive and more than a bit fickle.

Super easy listening — I didn’t love the narrators voice at first, but overall thought it was a good book. This made me want to read her other series, Caraval

Great read, but I would make sure you have read the Caraval series before reading this book. While I enjoyed the read, it left me feeling a little confused and dissatisfied. But I'm curious to see what the next books hold. Great characters introduced and I like that while the theme of the story is romance, it isn't overly done and the magic is beautiful. But the overall layout of the north wasn't described well and was a little confusing, and some parts of the story felt rushed. But overall I enjoyed it.

The narration was good. The story was entertaining. I think its target demographic of teen- new adult will really enjoy Once Upon A Broken Heart. I wanted alot more from this story but am optimistic that I'll get it in the next installment. Jacks is a fantastic character, my favorite by far. I would recommend reading the Caraval trilogy first but it's not a must. The love interests in this novel happen so fast that they don't feel genuine but that starts to change toward the end of the book. The pacing and story development are best during the last third. I definitely plan to read any follow ups to OUABH as I walked away feeling like I needed more.

Very light hearted and whimsical, had the right amount of young adult drama without being too fluffy and intolerable.

Good book, the end was a clifhanger and ot took a little bit for the plot to move forward, but over all really good , you can see her writing style has improved quite a lot since the caraval book, it is very whymsical and the romance seems to be a very slow burn.
I am looking forward to book number 2.
