About this audiobook
Instant #1 New York Times bestseller! Full of explosive magic, searing romance, and heartbreaking betrayal, this breathtaking sequel to This Woven Kingdom is from the award-winning and bestselling author of the Shatter Me series and is perfect for fans of Leigh Bardugo, Sabaa Tahir, and Tomi Adeyemi.
With the heat of a kiss, the walls between Alizeh, the long-lost heir to an ancient Jinn kingdom, and Kamran, the crown prince of the Ardunian empire, have crumbled. And so have both of their lives.
Alizeh, the heir to the Jinn throne, is destined to free her people from the half-lives they’ve been forced to live under human rule. When Kamran, the heir to the human throne, falls in love with her, he’s forced to question everything he’s been taught about Jinn.
Kamran’s grandfather lays dead at the hand of Cyrus, ruler of the neighboring kingdom of Tulan. Cyrus has stolen Alizeh away to his homeland and plans to marry her there, giving her everything she needs to become the Jinn queen—and when she assumes the throne he will have fulfilled his own bargain with the devil.
Alizeh wants nothing to do with Cyrus’s deal or the devil. But without a way to escape Tulan, and with the fulfillment of her own destiny tantalizingly close, she’ll have to decide whether she can set aside her emotions to become the queen her people need.
Kamran, meanwhile, is picking up the pieces in Ardunia. Facing betrayal at every turn, all he knows is that he must go to Tulan to avenge his grandfather. He can only hope that Alizeh will be waiting for him there—and that she hasn’t yet become the queen of Tulan.
Editor's Note
Persian mythology…
Fairy tale themes and Persian mythology unite once again in this highly anticipated sequel to “This Woven Kingdom.” Alizeh’s path to the Jinn throne is in the hands of Cyrus, ruler of Tulan. But Cyrus is motivated by evil forces, and Alizeh can’t forget the kiss she shared with Kamran of Ardunia, who has a fresh vendetta against Cyrus. Mafi, a National Book Award nominee, continues to build an intricate fantasy world bursting with rich characters, conflicting emotions, and powerful enemies.

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5No plot but im digging the vibes, easy to read i enjoyed it a lot
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5The story did not even progress. This could have been a novella.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I loved both books and am looking forward to the third. Though I often read fantasy novels, I am not usually this happy with them. These are well written and genuinely intriguing. I love the characters, though some of the dialogue could be better (too many "how dare you"s for instance). Would love to read the third.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5This entire book could have been done in two large chapters
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Nothing happened but it was still so revealing and entertaining. Cyrus is my new favorite ✨️

Book 2 of 'This Woven Kingdom' finds Alizeh kidnapped by Cyrus, him taking her to his kingdom where if she marries him, he'll give her his throne, and Kamran is now picking up the pieces of his grandfather's death at the hands of Cyrus, and he believes Alizeh was also part of the murder plot. But at the mention of her name he experiences pain and longing he had never felt before.
I didn't care much for the first book, but I thought I'd give this one a try, and was disappointed. Just like the first, the minor characters blended in, as did the main characters. She's the most beautiful person, and the two men, for humans, are handsome beyond belief. Yeah, sure there's a minor twist, but I don't feel as if the details were vivid enough. And I feel like that for all of the characters. The setting was detailed but the people, not so much.
I'm not impressed with the second book, let alone attached to the characters, so it's doubtful I'll pick up book 3.
