After spending his childhood and teenage years reading compulsively, he worked in bookshops then went to the University of Southampton to study Film and English followed by an MA in Film & Cultural Management. Worst.Ending.Ever. What a let down. The plot had so much potential, but it’s like the author got tired and quit.

Not too bad!!

Read some negative reviews so wasn’t too sure about this one, but this story, in my opinion, was not bad at all! I enjoyed it pretty much, and it kept my interest throughout.

True, the timeline may have been a tad confusing, but didn’t seem to detract from the overall story much. It does take a long time to get to the point of what was locked in the attic though!

Also, some strong political opinions weaved into the story about drugs and LGBTQ. I didn’t necessarily disagree with the opinions, but I am a bit tired of so many authors throwing their political opinions in my face. Having said that, I think there are still enough redeeming factors in this book to make it worth a listen.

I thought the narration was quite good, especially the very intelligent sounding female narrator (☺️).

I would definitely try other books by this author, who is a man, by the way (I had to look it up!! ?)
