- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Listening to this book in the year 2022. The references may be a bit dated but the principles are still so relevant. I highly recommend every parent get this book for encouragement to the heart, and practical help for everyday practice.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Very helpful and biblically grounded. Profoundly searching as a parent as to many ‘heart’ issues that lead to poor family dynamics. A positive and proactive set of biblical guidelines and practical suggestions for parenting through the teen (and beyond) years. Recommend
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5A redemptive approach to parenting, actually useful for dealing with all ages, not only teens. Best I have read yet, and a fit companion for Baucham’s Family driven faith.
A minor grip: it is a bit disturbing when such a good Christian book uses so much business analogies and language. - Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Great book for parenting a teen. These are difficult times, but parents should look at conflicts as opportunities to mentor children to think with a Christian mindset and examine their hearts and struggles. Engage with the world, but do not be of the world. It gave me hope in how to handle conflicts with my daughter and good advice on how to re-frame these situations for the better.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Absolutely great book! This is a must read for all parents and those that will work with teens, or people for that matter! This book speaks to the heart of the matter. The heart!
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5If you have teenagers in your home; this book is a great tool for equipping them and building a lasting relationship. It showed me ways to communicate that I had never been taught before. I highly recommend "Shepherding a Child's Heart" by Ted Tripp (author's brother) for parents of small children to read first.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This book has been so helpful to me. Inspired me, given a second wind in this parenting job God has given me. It has reminded me of the most important things in this job. Putting away selfishness, speaking in love, discipling, listening. Written for parents of teens, it gives ideas on how to manage the transition from teen to adult with integrity and hope. The authors promote discipling before discipline, and communication above all.
