About this audiobook

Lauren: Going back to work was supposed to be a painless transition, but when my new boss turns out to be an arrogant, cocky jerk, he quickly turns my professional life into a world of torture. Okay, fine, calling him an asshat before knowing he was my boss wasn't my finest moment. Hating him should be easy. I just never counted on him being so gorgeous or charming when he's not annoying me.

Austin: I expected my new assistant to be professional and punctual, but all I'm getting are dirty looks and rude comments. I should fire the little hellion, but instead all I can think about is bending her over my desk and breaking every rule I've ever made for myself.

One look. One touch. One night. If we break the rules, our lives will never be the same again.

Good thing rules were made to be broken. And besides, it feels so good to tempt the boss.

Contains mature themes.

Really bad audio and the plot is even worse .
The pranks were awful, so immature and I kept looking for a plot. Just tons of sex with no real connection between the hero and heroine.
I read the 4th book in the series and it was really good so I'm glad this wasn't my first book by the author.

This book runs on the same time line as "Something so perfect" which means that if you read it you would recognise some of the plot, I was actually surprised but it works really well even though it belongs to a completely different series. I really liked both characters and once the book was past the silly pranks it got very good. I like Madison's style of writing and the switch between the main 2 characters adds depth to the story as it shows two different perspectives. This writer is now a favourite of mine.

These two have an explosive workplace romance.

Lauren and Austin start on the wrong foot. There's no friendship to start, it's straight off the bat with pure dislike thanks to the initial car accident they have before Lauren starts her new job. Unfortunately, her new boss is Austin, who she was in a car accident with.

Lauren is a single mum and I love when the children are a big part of the story which they always are when it comes to Natasha's writing. Austin takes them under his wing and it's sweet to see him interacting with them in such a father-like way. Austin also has links with side characters from the books and I loved the cross-over. Gabe, Lauren's son, is into ice hockey and I'm dying to see if he makes a crossover in the world that she's creating.

I enjoyed the pranking and back-and-forth one-upping of each other but their relationship wasn't established enough for this to happen. Lauren had been working there for 8 hours before she started pranking Austin. Her BOSS! It helped build the tension for sure but the timeline should have been left longer.

The side characters were all very quirky and it was left with a big reveal which leaves me intrigued to see where the next book goes.

This is one of those stories where I was constantly saying out loud "I can relate". If you've ever worked for a man in a position in control of stressful work conditions. Whether it's a CEO, Director or Primary Business Owner, they all have a similar personality trait - trying at times to work for.

Lauren has her work cut out with Austin. However, instead of grin and bare it , Lauren actually gets to do what all of us have secretly dreamt of doing. Oh, and don't worry about Austin. He can give just as good. However, when they both give into the pull they have formed that's not all work related, OH BABY HOT!

This was a funny, enjoyable office workplace romance. Definitely one of my favorite tropes in rom-com with enemies to lovers. If you love the shenanigans that any HR person would cringe, this story is definitely for you. 4.5 out of 5 stars.
