(Garrett & Lauren): a single dad of twins and a recently divorced firefighter, Garrett is struggling through his life juggling spending time with his kids and working a very demanding and dangerous job. Lauren, finally home after med school and residency. She's the youngest daughter of the fire captain, she knows how difficult it is with a father as a firefighter. This book was sexy, and hilarious. Garrett and Lauren had me at "turn your head and cough". Their meet-cute and first date were so freaking hilarious, I literally died laughing. I loved the build up of their relationship, it almost felt like you were there. Their backstories are so interesting and sad in different ways. I extremely enjoyed the scenes that included Garrett's kids. The kids made the book so much more funny. I'm so happy I chose this book from MM this time. I needed that comic relief. Great read.
