The book was ok. The narrator made it difficult to connect with Jill, she spoke too boxy - like robotic at times.

I made it halfway through and had to quit. One of the main characters had Zero redeeming qualities. She was a stuck up entitled brat with no depth and no interesting features who doesn't seem to understand consent. I just hated her. She'd have made a good antagonist but as a protagonist I just couldn't relate to the uber rich white girl who was being handed daddies giant corporation because she was slightly less problematic than her horrible garbage brother.

Definite struggle to finish this one, if it wasn't short I think I would have thrown the towel in. Ali is immature and spoiled, and I didn't see anywhere near enough maturity or growth to really enjoy her as a character. I think I would have enjoyed Jill a little more if maybe there was a little more leaning towards a bdsm themed level of demands and rewards... Its hard for me to feel comfortable with the age gap and caretaking going on...? I just find that this one doesn't work for me.
