About this audiobook

What if the greatest role of your life is playing your true self?

Ida Burton used to be Hollywood’s sweetheart until the best roles started drying up in her forties.

When Ida lands one of the leads in a big-budget lesbian rom-com, it's not only a chance at reviving her dwindling career. Maybe this movie can be an opportunity to finally burst out of the closet she's forced herself into.

Faye Fleming has been at the top of her acting game and collecting awards for the past few years. When she's cast in a huge blockbuster opposite the legendary Ida Burton, she's over the moon.

Ida and Faye hit it off. The chemistry on set is through the roof… until their characters' first kiss.

Best-selling lesbian romance author Harper Bliss brings you a feel-good story about finding the courage to follow your heart.

★★★★★ "A gorgeous feel-good story full of warmth, community, and star quality."

★★★★★ "Fun and flirty! The only thing better than the banter between the MCs are the steamy love scenes."

Since her ground-breaking Pink Bean novels, Harper Bliss has continued writing exceptional stories about wlw. This is yet another compelling novel featuring her fully developed characters and an intriguing plot. A beautiful A-list, closeted actress in her late 40s is cast as one of the leads of a cutting edge lesbian rom-com opposite an equally successful and gorgeous straight film star. What happens during the filming exposes the suffocating pain of being in the closet at a time when Hollywood producers usually rejected gay actors, fearing their profits would suffer because of movie goers prejudice. But the book also reveals the joy of acceptance and unexpectedly falling in love. And, of course, Abby Craden’s narration deserves ten stars.

Short but sweet. The story flowed nicely and the character development was good. We can't help who we fall in love with. The narrator in my opinion did a great job and has a dexy voice.

But seriously, as an actor myself I could truly relate to this lovely, funny and touching book. The writing, the characters, the story—all of it very moving and inspiring to write my own queer romcom!

Sweet celesbian (celebrity lesbian) romance with great narration. I really enjoyed Craden’s tone switch each chapter so I knew exactly which MC was “speaking”. I also really love how characters from other Harper Bliss novels are interwoven into the story.

This was a fairly well done, lesbian romance with definite spicy scenes. I found it to be an easy read, however, it was a little singular in its focus, and I did find myself getting a little bored towards the end. It also had some congratulatory “ we are changing the world vibes at times” that felt a little afterschool special-ish to me here and there. Overall worth checking out. Just might not be something I would reread.

This was a sweet and mostly lighthearted romance. I enjoyed it but it didn’t quite have that extra thing for me. I enjoyed both main characters, their dynamic was lovely, and I always enjoy the acting/Hollywood trope. What I didn’t love was how often ida kept saying not coming out for so much of her life meant she didn’t have enough self respect——that’s some bullshit. Your sexuality is no one’s business but your own, and that doesn’t at all mean you don’t respect yourself if you never choose share that with anyone. I dunno I don’t think that was the overall message trying to be pushed or anything, but some variation of that came up a few times and it really rubbed me the wrong way. All in all, this was a fun lighthearted romance with impeccable narration.
