Meh. The characters were one dimensional (actress! Single mom surfer!) and their decisions made absolutely no sense which was frustrating to follow. The author did a poor job of explaining why the characters did certain things and seemed to think that having the characters say things like “I know this was out of the blue, but it felt right!” was sufficient for trying to convince the reader that the characters were falling in love. There was good build up in the beginning, and then after the out of the blue first kiss, it all went downhill. I couldn’t even finish it because I was mad at the characters and the author. Sex scenes were very cerebral and seemed to be checking the lesbian sex boxes (oral? Check! Fingers? Check! Grinding? Check!). It would take a lot for me to read this author again.
