About this audiobook

Can one kiss change your life forever?

When two strangers meet in a bar and share a scorching, once-in-a-lifetime kiss, they never expect to see each other again. Until days later when Skye walks into Gemma’s Surrey vineyard. For once, Gemma is lost for words.

When they start working together, they agree nothing can happen. Business comes first.

But such simmering sexual tension can only be contained for so long before the lid finally blows off…

Join Gemma and Skye as they fight their growing attraction in this glorious, slow-burn romantic comedy set in a sun-drenched UK vineyard. Queen of British sapphic romance Clare Lydon does it again with this gorgeous summer page-turner!

Entertaining audiobook but too much back and forth in the relationship
I liked this audiobook. I find it hard to rate a book for bookish qualities (writing, etc.) when I only listen to the audiobook. I just usually have to rate audiobooks for the entertainment factor. But I really enjoyed this audiobook. The narrator was excellent and the story kept my attention. I liked all the characters. But I have to say that I'm not that fond of books where a) the characters don't communicate enough or well and b) the back and forth in the relationship. So this was an entertaining story but not a true favorite. The premise was good and well-executed.

I have so many mixed feelings about this book. Do I regret listening to it? Not at all. But I had to listen to it at .8 speed because the narrator spoke so fast and there wasn’t differentiation between characters and thoughts so you weren’t always sure who was speaking. The book itself was also frustrating at times. As someone else said, there’s a lot of back and forth and the characters don’t always feel like they are making logical decisions. There’s definitely personal preference there, but it made me root for the characters less as the book went on and made certain decisions feel less satisfying. I hate to rate it low because I think it’s a value-added piece of lesbian fiction, but it’s just not my favorite. I wouldn’t recommend it as one of the great lesbian romance books, but if you haven’t read it and are looking for something entertaining and short, this is a good pick.

It wasn't a bad story, but the lack of communication and the back and forth could be nerve racking. The narration wasn't bad, but at times it took a few seconds to figure out what character was talking.
