The Jade Setter of Janloon by Fonda Lee ? ? ? ? ? /5 I am so happy to be back in this world. This prequel story gave a new insight into the inner workings of Janloon while giving us a gritty mystery, that twists and turns like a good crime film. I love the new characters we met in this book, as well as the little cameos from old favs. I really liked the cinematic feel, and would love to see this adapted into an animated film, or a tv movie.
I would really love for Lee to revisit this world in future with more Novels, Novellas or shorts, as this is easily one of my favourite fantasy universes.
I really really adored this.

Such interesting world building. The city of Janloon looks like a place where many stories might find home.
Looking forward to reading more from this writer. I had not heard of the Jade City series before I read this so I'm looking forward to moving on to the novels. I'm not sure if this is a prequel or sequel to those.
