About this audiobook

A Josiah Wolfe, Texas Ranger Novel

Assigned to track an Indian raiding party, Texas Ranger Josiah Wolfe expects to return home to his son in Austin in a few days. But when the Ranger and his compatriots from the Frontier Battalion are overtaken by two Comanche scouts, they find themselves captives instead of captors. Comanches aren’t known for going easy on their prisoners, so Josiah is surprised when they don’t immediately shoot him.

Turns out there’s a price on his head thanks to Liam O’Reilly, a gang leader also known as the Badger. Josiah has a checkered history with the outlaw—he apprehended the gang’s previous leader—but he doesn’t know why O’Reilly wants him dead. As the Comanches drag him to the town where the Badger is waiting, Josiah knows that time is running out. But Texas Rangers are hard men to kill, and Josiah Wolfe is no exception…

The Badgers Revenge was an enjoyable well written western. It keeps your interest throughout and doesn't waste time with non relevant past history for filler. The main character is all you one usually finds in western heroes and seems totally lost when dealing with any emotions. This is book three of the "Rangers" series and I plan to read the first two and recommend this book to any lovers of Westerns.

I enjoyed this refreshing return to the days of the wild west. The book contains all the elements you would expect in a western; action, romance and lawmen versus outlaws. The novel takes a nice turn when Texas Ranger, Josiah Wolfe, who is pursuing two Comanche scouts, is captured. He then learns he has a bounty on his head. A price that will gladly be paid by his arch foe, Liam O'Reilly, the Badger. Wolfe finds out what it is like being the hunted instead of the hunter. He wastes no time turning tails on his pursuers and getting back on O'Reilly's trail. Wolfe's life is complicated by a rich, blond haired beauty he desires, but believes he is not worthy of and a dark haired, strong willed, pregnant widow, who aids him while he is on the run. As if this is not enough, there may be a traitor in the ranks of the Texas Rangers, who is helping the Badger. Some of the characters seemed like they could have been fleshed out a bit more, particularly Liam O'Reilly. In fairness, this may be attributed to the fact that this is part of a continuing series in which these characters have already been developed in greater depth. I feel interested enough in the characters to seek out the preceding books and find out more about the various personalities and look forward to the new books in the series.
