Good story well written. Interesting characters. Fast paced with plenty of action. I like it.

This book isn't a bad read and it's easy to know what to expect from a book of this genre. It's another Da Vinci Code cash-in, but it's not as bad as many currently on the market. The characters are likeable and the setting is suitably interesting, with an engaging storyline. The problem however, is there is no challenge to this book. It all seems a bit easy for the characters to work things out and the ending is a bit of a damp squib. This is a more long journey/airport/sunday afternoon read.

This novel raises questions as to how much we should believe about the origins of Christianity. The majority of the story is set in Italy and tells of policeman, Chris Bronson's efforts to translate and decode an ancient artefact and avenge the death of his murdered friends. This genre really has been flooded in the last few years and while this is an enjoyable read, the central characters seem to solve the puzzles they are presented with a little too easily and it's difficult not to question a British policeman's ability to take on the might of the Mafia so easily.

a very fun and quick read. yet another vatican conspiracy themed novel, but this one had a story that was a little better and different than the others. highly enjoyable.

This is a new author for me & I really enjoyed his 1st book. It concerns the search for some ancient relics that could change the whole idea of christianity. I look forward to reading his next book.

For those who have read 'Sign of the Cross' by Chris Kuzneski I would suggest skipping this religious thriller, for the plots are almost identical. The story weaves it's chase action in a different way from most of the books in this genre, which is refreshing, however, the characters are rather lacklustre and the action is rather simplistic. Overall, The First Apostle is a poor entry in this crowded scene, adding nothing new in content, and although it's an easy read there are better options out there.
