- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Starting with a man being pulled from the sea with no memory, he's called Knot by the folks who save him, this then moves on to his wedding (and honestly this relationship is somewhat meh) to a Tiellan (Elf, but they regard this as a pejorative) called Winter, which is interruped by a bunch of men who start by slaughtering several in the audience. Knot flees to try to protect Winter and she follows him with a friend. Meanwhile a priestess, Cinza, has discovered that her sister is caught up in what her order is calling heresy. Also Knot meets a childlike vampire that wants to help him for her own reasons and there's a lot of plotting and complications and messy life stuff going on.An interesting psionics/magic system where it can be innate or artificially induced, I'm curious how this is going to develop. Also, some gods are really badly organised!
