About this audiobook

“Thrilling. . . . a must-read!” — Mary Kubica
“Masterful.” — Wendy Walker
“I couldn’t put it down.” — Joseph Finder

In a world of wealth and privilege, a killer is hiding . . .

The internationally bestselling author of The Last Mrs. Parrish follows that success with an addictive novel filled with shocking twists about the aftermath of a brutal high-society murder.

Dr. Kate English has it all. Not only is she the heiress to a large fortune; she has a gorgeous husband and daughter, a high-flying career, and a beautiful home anyone would envy.

But all that changes the night Kate’s mother, Lily, is found dead, brutally murdered in her own home. Heartbroken and distraught, Kate reaches out to her estranged best friend, Blaire Barrington, who rushes to her side for the funeral, where the years of distance between them are forgotten in a moment.

That evening, Kate’s grief turns to horror when she receives an anonymous text: You think you’re sad now, just wait. By the time I’m finished with you, you’ll wish you had been buried today. More than ever, Kate needs her old friend’s help.

Once Blaire decides to take the investigation into her own hands, it becomes clear that all is not as it seems in Baltimore high society. As infidelity, lies, and betrayals come to light, and tensions rise to a boiling point, she begins to alienate Kate’s friends and relatives with her relentless, accusatory questions, as she tries to find Lily’s killer. The murderer could be anyone—friend, neighbor, loved one. But whoever it is, it’s clear that Kate is next on their list. . .

In The Last Time I Saw You, Liv Constantine takes the lightning pace of The Last Mrs. Parrish and raises the stakes, creating an exquisitely tension-filled and absorbing tale of psychological suspense in which innocent lives—and one woman’s sanity—hang in the balance.

It was like a lame tv soap. The main character was pathetic. And a heart surgeon, really?!

I feel like writing a bad review will have the same affect as it did in the book. Good read. Loved the twists and turns.

After reading their debut novel, I expected a lot more from this author. This book was dull, unimaginative, the main twist was seen a mile away, and it felt like the authors just called in this plot and characters. Read The First Mrs. Parrish and skip this one completely.

This book was massively disappointing. I was pretty into it until the actual culmination of the plot. It was implausible and had way too much plot that didn't work. It was as if the author were trying to include every over-done psychological thriller trope. Then, after the disappointing culmination, the book just kept going. It was "wrapping up" for about seven or so chapters. Massive let down and definitely not worth the read.

This book started out good... slow, but good, but only for the first half. I wasn't sure exactly where it was going to take me. I didn't know who to trust...who was sane...who wasn't. Actually, I just couldn’t get close to these characters and it seemed the book ended up way out in left field. I believe one problem may have been that the book is written in two voices and it’s difficult to follow. I’ve read this author before so I won’t let this one put me off getting more of her books.

Such a well written story yet unfortunately it does not hold up to the author’s previous book, The Last Mrs. Parrish. I enjoyed reading this though, and I didn’t guess the ending, which says a lot about how it’s written.
I would not call it an original storyline, but I would say it was well played out. I’m sure it’s hard for someone to write a great first book and be able to live up to the expectations for the second book.

I really enjoyed reading The Last Time I Saw You by Liv Constantine. The author(s) kept the tension high - all the way to the end. It was interested to read how the mystery revealed itself, and I thought that it was a surprise reveal! Although, the title and the blurbs on the back of the book did give an insight as to who was the one sending the threats to Kate. It was a surprise as to who killed Lily, Kate's mother. I thought there were plenty of red herrings to keep you guessing. Enjoyable thriller - I will read more from this author!#TheLastTimeISawYou #LivConstantine

The Last Time I Saw You by Liv Constantine is a suspenseful, character driven mystery.

Dr. Kate English is absolutely shocked by the murder of her mother, Lily.  The only silver lining in this devastating loss is her reunion with long estranged childhood friend Blaire Barrington. Kate is further comforted by her friend's presence when she begins receiving threatening texts that indicate she might become the killer's next victim. In order to protect his wife and daughter, Annabelle, Kate's husband Simon moves back into the family home and hires around the clock security for the family. With a long history of anxiety, Kate is barely functioning as she, along with Blaire, try to figure out who murdered Lily.

Kate is a pediatric cardiothoracic surgeon who is calm, cool and collected in the operating room. Until recently, her anxiety has been well controlled but her recent separation from Simon has shaken her. She is convinced he is cheating on her but following Lily's death, she is willing to allow him to return home until her mother's murderer is arrested. When the chilling texts and frightening occurrences within the home continue despite the security measures, Kate cannot help but wonder if she is losing her grip on reality. Because the only other option is someone is attempting to gaslight her, but who could be behind such a nefarious scheme?

Blaire never imagined voicing her concerns about Simon on Kate's wedding would lead to the loss of her friendship.  Although she never quite got over the loss of Kate and her parents, Blaire is now happily married to Daniel, a successful author with whom she co-writes a best-selling mystery series.  Blaire is thrilled with the opportunity to resume her friendship with Kate and she is determined to figure out who murdered Lily. Despite the passage of time, the women resume their friendship and Kate soon heavily relies on Blaire as her anxiety spirals out of control.

Alternating between Kate's and Blaire's perspectives, The Last Time I Saw You is a clever mystery that is quite engrossing. Kate is an increasingly unreliable narrator who is deeply suspicious of the people around her. Blaire is determined to unmask Lily's killer and protect Kate, but how far will she go to ensure an arrest? With plenty of unexpected twists and diabolical turns, Liv Constantine ratchets the tension to a fever pitch as the novel comes to an thoroughly stunning conclusion. I highly recommend this riveting mystery to fans of the genre.

I preferred her first book. The mental health issues not well done. The story line moved. The main characters were not sympathetic, in fact they were a little annoying. Behaviors did not seem real.

Kate is devastated by the murder of her mother. The only bright spot is Blaire who has shown up to the funeral. They had been best friends since childhood until a falling out over Kate's marriage. But they quickly rekindle their old friendship and Kate needs a friend as it seems she may be the killer's next target.I had mixed fixed feelings about I Saw You, the psychological thriller by Liv Constantine. The story is told from the perspectives of both Kate and Blaire. There's plenty of plot twists that keeps the story moving at a fairly brisk pace but unfortunately the story was marred by mostly unlikeable characters. Kate especially became tedious as she becomes progressively more paranoid and whiney. I mean, yes, she's being targetted but its hard to accept that a paediatric heart surgeon would fall apart quite so quickly. In contrast, Blaire seems strong and determined although many of her decisions seem somewhat immature. My strongest criticism however has to go to the ending - despite the fact that it was fairly easy to spot the perp, the explanation for their behaviour seemed more than a little contrived. Still, the story did keep my attention despite these annoyances so I do recommend it although with reservations. Thanks to Edelweiss + and Harper Publishers for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review

The murder of Lily Michaels sets off an unexpected chain of events that threatens to destroy her daughter Kate when it appears that the murderer is intent on making her the next victim. This story introduces readers to a lot of characters; unfortunately, there’s not a particularly likable one in the crowd. Kate’s anxiety over the threats she’s receiving quickly morphs into whiney ad nauseum histrionics; her tumble into annoying, over-the-top behavior seems out of character for a pediatric cardiothoracic surgeon [even a threatened one]. Blaire, in contrast, becomes a tenacious force to be reckoned with when she sets her mind on something. The story unfolds through dual points of view, alternating between Kate and Blaire. Plot twists and unexpected reveals keep the narrative moving in unexpected directions, but astute readers will discern most of the answers long before the big reveals. There’s a strong sense of place and the fascinating glimpse into the world of the uber-rich is like a guilty pleasure until the story tumbles into the domain of “Dynasty” eye-rolling soap opera implausibility; the unexpected out-of-left-field ending is likely to leave readers shaking their heads in befuddlement. Nevertheless, the betrayals, lies, and secrets are what drive the telling of this tale and the mystery of the murder in this quick read story wraps up quite nicely.

The Last Time I Saw You by Liv Constantine is a psychological thriller about the dysfunction of Baltimore high society. Dr. Kate English has it all: she is a physician, wife and mother, living in a showcase home and is also the heiress to a family fortune. Tragedy strikes when her mother Lily is brutally murdered and the police haven't a clue who the perpetrator could be. Blaire Barrington, Kate's best friend in earlier years, comes to the funeral to offer her support and to help unearth information about the murder. Soon after the funeral, Kate begins to receive threatening texts promising that she is next. The tension intensifies till Kate becomes paranoid and starts doubting the integrity of several people in her life. Who could have killed Lily and is the same person coming for her? Suspicions of infidelity, betrayals and dishonesty only succeed to confuse. The resolution will astonish. This is a great title for beach or cottage reading. Kate seems to have it all – she’s got an excellent career, a wonderful husband and daughter, a beautiful house, and she’s an heiress to a large fortune. One night Kate’s mother, Lily, is murdered at home. At Lily’s funeral, Kate reconnects with an old friend Blaire. After the funeral, Kate receives a creepy anonymous text message and to make matter worse, the police haven’t found the killer yet. Blaire is determined to solve the mystery and in the process of investigating, she uncovers some secrets. It would have been a 4 star except the very end dragged on for me a little too much and I guessed what some of the twists were.Thank you to NetGalley and HarperCollins Publishers for allowing me to read an advanced reader copy in exchange for an honest review.

The Last Time I Saw YouBy Liv ConstantineWhat it's all about...So...here is what we have with this book. Two childhood friends...Kate and Blair...separated by a misunderstanding...but brought back together by the murder of Kate’s mother Lily. Lily literally raised both of these girls. Blaire steps in to help Kate. Kate has reason to believe that someone is trying to now harm/kill her. There are an amazing amount of twists and turns in this book...so many that my head was constantly buzzing! My thoughts after reading this book...As I stated before there were lots of surprises in this book. It’s not a great idea for me to describe them. This is one of those books that is best just read and enjoyed. What I loved best...I really did enjoy not knowing who the killer was until nearly the end. And even then I was surprised! What potential readers might want to know...Readers who enjoy a wild ride with their chiller/thriller books should enjoy this one. Sometimes the characters grew annoying...especially Kate...but that was all a part of the excitement of this book. I received this book from the publisher through Edelweiss. It was my choice to read and review it.

A special thank you to Edelweiss and HarperCollins for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.Dr. Kate English is easily envied. She is the heiress to a large fortune, has a beautiful home and gorgeous family, and a successful career. But when her mother, Lily, is brutally murdered, everything comes crashing down and things are not as they appear.Kate reconnects with her estranged best friend, Blaire, who rushes to be by her side in her greatest time of need. The two put aside their differences, and it is as if no time has passed. The grief is quickly replaced by fear when Kate starts to receive threatening messages. Although it is not apparent who is responsible for killing her mother, one thing is for certain, Kate is next. Blair decides to take matters into her own hands, to try and find Lily's killer, and in the process, alienates anyone that is close to Kate.Secrets, lies, infidelity, and betrayal—things are not as they appear on the surface of high society in Baltimore.I don't like to give negative reviews, I really, really don't...however this one just didn't do anything for me. The writing was not great. There were little to no conjunctions or connecting words, instead there was short, choppy staccato sentences and after a while, this is exhausting to read. The characters lacked depth, and the story was completely underwhelming. The writers seemed to struggle with pace, and plot as a whole. Just when things seemed to get moving, there would be an abrupt shift in focus to tertiary characters that were confusing to keep track of because there were so many. As far as the ending, I certainly won't spoil anything, other than to say that again, the pacing was off and it was rushed. That being said, I have heard incredibly positive things about The Last Mrs. Parrish and will for sure give that one a chance.

Lindas Book Obsession Reviews "The Last Time I Saw You" by Liv Constantine, Harper, May 7, 2019WOW! WOW! WOW! Liv Constantine, (Authors) of "The Last Time I Saw You" have written an intense, captivating, intriguing, chilling, unpredictable, page-turning novel. The Genres for this Novel are Mystery, Thriller, Suspense and Fiction. I couldn't put this  book down, and read it in one sitting.  This is another novel, by the same authors, where I was at the edge of my seat, and any sound made me jump. The time-line for this novel is in the present. The authors describe the characters as complex and complicated. So many of the characters seem suspect of the crimes at hand.Dr. Kate English, looks like she has the perfect life. She has a gorgeous young daughter, is a physician, has a family, and is extremely wealthy.  Kate's mother has been brutally murdered. It seems that  Kate's mother was beloved by many, and yet there seems to be suspects who are close to Kate.Soon, Kate starts getting deadly gifts, and strange threatening notes, where it is obvious that someone wants to harm or kill Kate. Kate's friend Blair starts trying to investigate and come up with answers, that the Police haven't been able to find. This novel reminds me of "Gaslight", and Kate is doubting many of the things she is doing. It is like a game of cat and mouse. It is deadly. Who is/are the killers?  Why is Kate being threatened?  I highly recommend this amazing novel to readers who enjoy chilling thrillers.

This was my first Liv Constantine book and it won't be my last. The characters are believable, like them or hate them, and the story pulls you in. During my reading, I came up with every possible answer as to who the proper suspect was, and then I eliminated all of them and started again. Several times. I like that in a book! Kept me there, waiting for that "aha" moment with lots of surprises along the way. I have to say that when I finally believed I had the whole thing nailed down tight, well, I didn't. Great story, great characters, twists galore....what more does one need? This book covers marriage, friendship, lies and truths. It's so much fun figuring out who belongs in what category!I won this book from Suzy Approved Book Reviews and I thank her and the publisher for my copy.
