Lilac Mills lives on a Welsh mountain with her very patient husband and incredibly sweet dog, where she grows veggies (if the slugs don’t get them), bakes (badly) and loves making things out of glitter and glue (a mess, usually). She’s been an avid reader ever since she got her hands on a copy of Noddy Goes to Toytown when she was five, and she once tried to read everything in her local library starting with A and working her way through the alphabet. The narration is extremely distracting because the accents do not sound Welsh or Scottish, they sound East Asian ( which would be fine if they were not trying to be something else) and they fluctuate. You can’t concentrate on the words you are so jarred by the accents. If it were just narrated in a straight British voice it would have been fine. If a narrator cannot do accents they should just forget the accents. We can use our imagination. Why did the director allow this?

Honestly those accents are quite offensive. As a Welsh person the accents used by the narrator were truly awful and nothing like a Welsh accent. The Scottish one was just as bad. Ruined the book.

A fantastic romance! Very charming and up lifting. I look forward to ready more books in this refreshing series.
