I think it's a 5 star story - but a 1 star performance - The narration fell completely flat - no emotion - the wife sounded like she wore the pants in the family and the husband sounded like a pathetic school boy who hadn't lived life at all and knew nothing of the world - this was due only to the narration -
I had to imagine the dialogue being said in a far different tone and when I did - it was great!
I will never attempt another audio book from this narrator -
This particular book/story was fantastic! It was fast paced, twists delivered, although, I will admit - I knew early on (from the first call to his friend for help) how the ending was going to play out - no huge mystery for me - but it was still pretty good in hopes I'd be wrong! There were many times when I thought it was going to turn and it didn't - so that was fun.
For a short story (which I typically am not a fan of) it was great - minus the narrator.
