About this audiobook
Sabine is working on a mixed-species spaceship when it abruptly comes under attack by a strange monster. When she encounters Eirlys, a set, they manage to hide together and survive the assault.
They're soon rescued by Naomi, captain of a mercenary ship which was hired to kidnap the two survivors but at the last minute chose to rescue them instead—putting them, Naomi, and her crew in peril from the government who hired them.
And if being wanted wasn't enough, the monster is still out there.
Editor's Note
Sharply Clever...
In this sharply clever sci-fi novella, a person working on a mixed-species spaceship meets a non-person during the course of a crisis. They work together to stay safe, only to encounter more danger aboard another ship. This novella has tons of action and adventure, but its greatest strength lies in its two protagonists.

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5an interesting idea, thst kind of went nowhere in the end
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Short read, with interesting alien species. More for fans of romance, though. If you like your world building and intrigue with only a dash of romance, you may be left wanting. I think it would be better as an e-book than an audiobook.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5I enjoyed the story and the characters… but, when I say it is unfinished, I am not exaggerating . I don’t know if it can be called a complete novel.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Love is harder when you are networked
Good story too - Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5I couldn't quite get into the story, but the performance of the reader made it a pleasant listen.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Cute Sci-Fi book with interesting aliens. The description sounds much more scary than the book is in actuality. I liked the found family and motely-crew aspect that came up halfway through, as well as the final revelation that was surprisingly adorable.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Slow, unique, character driven, concise, and fun story. Really enjoyed!
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Can't get past the narration. She's pretty good but it sounds like she's got the mike right up against her mouth.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/53 stars because while I enjoyed the story itself, the ending was bad.

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Too short, the idea of the new alien is interesting. Too much wokeism crap.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Really enjoyed this one. Great characters, well drawn. Engaging story that explained so much complexity in a clever, straightforward way. Really well performed too. I'm going looking for more by this inventive author. Thanks

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5A perfectly delightful story. The only reason this did not get 4 stars was I would have really liked more character development/backstory. By the time I figured out what species everyone was the story was over. I wanted more information on everyone and the different cultures. It left me wanting a full book on another adventure of this crew.
