About this audiobook
She was admired by women and desired by men, until jealousy and past secrets took center stage. Help Cleo and her friends solve the murder of one of London’s leading actresses.
When a hotel guest’s mistress is found dead in the stalls of the Piccadilly Playhouse, a verdict of suicide is given. Convinced his lover didn’t kill herself, Lord Rumford wants the truth uncovered. Against his better judgement, he hires Cleo Fox to find the murderer. Cleo needs to solve this case if she wants to make a living from being a private detective.
But she quickly learns that the truth is buried beneath years of secrets; secrets that powerful people want desperately to keep. With the help of her friends from the Mayfair Hotel, Cleo exposes the bitter rivalry and jealousy of London’s West End.
But can she find the killer before the final curtain closes on the Playhouse?

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Always a pleasure to listen to CJ Archer's book, great writer and great book
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I really am enjoying this series. The characters are entertaining without being over the top and the story moves at a good pace. I like that it is hard to follow who did it and the chemistry between the characters is great! I wish they were a little longer but that just means it keeps your internet !
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Ii love these books they keep me interested and they put you back in that time when life was so different
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5This was an entertaining historical murder mystery. I liked the setting of a Victorian hotel and the characters are vivid. I did think Cleopatra was occasionally a little too modern in her attitudes but not a major problem.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Great listening, humour, intrigue and mystery, my favourite so far, I highly recommend this series.
